Logan

I walked into the schools double doors and walked through the packed hallways. I walked down to my locker and got all the books and stuff I needed.

I saw Janelle walking down and I turned to smile at her. "Hey Janelle." I said wrapping my arm around her waist and kissing her on the cheek.

"Hey Logan." She said.

"I see you're still wearing the necklace." I said. That diamond necklace looked beautiful on her.

"Yeah. I'm not taking this necklace off." She said.

"Never?" I asked, closing my locker and taking her hand.

"Nope." She said.

I laughed. "Good." I heard a vibration and Janelle took her phone out of her back pocket.

She stared at the screen and rolled her eyes. "What's wrong?" I asked with a concerned tone.

"Nothing. Just, someone wants me to meet with them after school." She said putting the phone back inside her pocket.

"Who? Why?" I asked, curiously. Is it weird that I'm asking all of these questions?

"Um. My uh...okay, my ex boyfriend came to visit me, and he still has feelings for me, and I don't know why, but he asked me to meet him after school." She explained.

"Ex boyfriend?" I asked.

"Yeah. Don't get mad." She said.

I smiled. "I'm not." I trust Janelle. And I'm not one of those guys who would get mad over something like that. Because then that would just cause more problems. So I trust her.

"Really? Thank you." Janelle gave me a hug and I took her hand again as we walked into Ms. Johnson's class.

When we walked into the class, the late bell rang literally one second later. Ms. Johnson stared daggers at us. "You two were this close," she made a gesture with her fingers. "from being late to my class! Take your seats!" She yelled.

Janelle rolled her eyes and we both sat down in our seats.

I can't believe I'm about to do this. The reason why I'm doing this is because of Janelle. I stood in front of the gym's double doors and hesitated to walk in.

I stared at the sign in front of me and sighed. "Valley Ridge High School Basketball Tryouts" the sign read.

I never thought I would be trying out for the basketball team, but Janelle was right, I needed to show off my hiden basketball skills.

It's just that I never thought about doing that. The schools smartest guy is normally never on any sports teams. What would people think about that? And plus, my aunt and uncle always told me to never focus on sports. They always told me to focus on my school work and grades.

But I guess I've always been interested in basketball and it's a sport I've always liked, so why not.

I swung the double doors open and walked into the gym. There were about 20 other guys at the try outs. When I walked in, every single eye in the room was on me. It felt awkward, but I just kept on walking.

I stepped onto the bleachers and tree my book bag down. I was about to go down and change into my basketball close, until a voice stopped me.

"Logan Williams?" I heard someone call my name. I turned around to see a boy named Jaden Wilson looking at me with an amused smirk on his face. "You're trying out for the basketball team?" He asked.

"Yeah. Are you?" I asked him.

He chuckled. "No. School sports are lame. What makes you think you can make the team anyway?" He asked me. See? People don't except me to be here.

"I'm actually pretty good at basketball." I said, taking my close out of my gym bag.

Jaden then bursted out with laughter. "Okay. We'll see about that." Jaden patted me twice on the shoulder before walking away.

I shrugged and walked to the boys locker room. After changing into my basketball stuff, I went back out to the gym and lied up with the other people who were trying out.

Coach Richards, the basketball coach, entered the gym a couple minutes later. "Alright everyone," he began. "This is the Valley Ridge High School Basketball tryouts. Today, your skills will be tested and I will watch every single one of you boys like hawks." He said with a serious tone. "I will evaluate you and next Monday, results will be posted on the wall of the 11th grade hallway." He finished with his explanation and then blew his whistle. "Now everyone line up in front of the goal!" He now yelled in his 'coach like' voice. He gave the first person in line a basketball. "The first person in line will make a layup. Then he will pass it to the next person and he will do the same, and so on, and so on. Now go!"

The first person did his layup shot, and unfortunately, he missed. He passed the ball to the next person and the line continued on. Only 4 people had made their shots before me. When the ball got to me, I did my layup and made it.

"Impressive Williams." Coach Richards said.

Afterwards, we did a whole bunch of other drills. I made basically every shot that we had to shoot. So it went really good.

I was so tired when it was over. We did a lot of drills and it was really tiering. So when it was over, I went downstairs to leave right out of the school.

Janelle

I walked down to the back hallway with a not so excited look on my face. Why does Dallas want to meet with me? What is it that he possibly needs to speak with me about.

I turned the corner to the back hallway to see Dallas waiting for me there. "What!?" I said as soon as I saw him.

"You just got back here and you're already acting mean?" He said.

"Shut up. Why did you wanna meet up?" I asked, just ready to get this over with.

"Janelle," he began stepping close to me and grabbing my hands. "I really want to get back together." He said.

I sighed and looked at him. "Dallas. I have a boyfriend." I said.

"But that doesn't matter. You can break up with him." He said.

"No. Dallas, we broke up because I was moving away. And we both know that we weren't right for each other." I said. "We fought every single day."

"So? All couples fight." He said.

"But we fought everyday. Listen, were over. We've gone our separate ways and that's it. Sorry Dallas." I said.

Dallas sighed. "Fine. I understand." He said.

I looked down and saw that we were still holding hands. I rolled my eyes. "Okay. Can you let go of my hands now?" I said.

He slowly let go of my hands and hugged me, for a long time. So I just sat there hugging him, wondering when he was gonna get the hell off of the me.
~~~~~~
When I got home, I went upstairs in my room and just spent the rest of the night playing games on my phone. I have some math homework to do, but there is no way in a million years that I'm going to do it.
Getting bored with the games, I just decided to text Logan.
Me: hey :-)
I waited for like 4 minutes, and he still didn't respond. So I decided to text him again.
Me: hello
He still hadn't responded. I rolled my eyes and threw my phone on my nightstand. I lied down on my pillow and fell myself to sleep.
