Janelle

I entered the school building for another usual day of school. At least it's finally Friday. I'm just ready for the weekend.

Oh yeah...on Saturday, I have to finish up the project with Jaden. Well that ripped apart my good mood.

At least I don't have to spend time with him on Sunday. I'm home free on Sunday!

I walked to my locker and put in my combination. I took out my biology textbook. Biology...who's gonna be teaching us biology since Mr. Drew got fired? I mentally shrugged. I couldn't care less who teaches us. It's not like it's gonna change my work ethic. I barely did any work in biology, and I still manage to have an A in that class.

I looked to the locker to my left. I sighed. It's kind of weird being at my locker without Lana next to me, running her big mouth.

I carried my biology textbook in my hands as I walked to Ms. Johnson's class. When I arrived to her class, I sat in my seat. I looked over at Logan, who was looking down at his desk. I just remembered the moment from yesterday when Logan had talked to me in the hallway. He didn't completely get to finish his sentence before Ricky came up to me and told me to hurry up and get to class, but I could swear that he was trying to ask me out.

He asked me if I was gonna be busy on Saturday. I don't know what else he could've been asking me, but to me, it sounded like he was asking me out.

I don't know if I would go out with him again. I guess I could. I know that he was really sorry about what he did, but I just feel hesitant about this whole situation.

Maybe I could start dating him again...I DON'T KNOW.

I decided to stop thinking about him and start on my math assignment. Because if I didn't, Ms. Johnson was going to give me a whole year of detention.

I decided to avoid Logan for the whole day, because he was just causing my brain too many problems. And I know if I kept thinking about him, my brain would explode.

For biology today, we just had a substitute. She was short, and had gray hair. She talked like a zombie and almost put the whole class to sleep. I'm pretty sure I dozed off in the middle of her lesson. I guess we'll be having that lady until they find a new teacher.

I was on my way to lunch, when I realized I have no one to sit next to. Now that Lana's gone, I have no one to sit at my table.

I looked around the lunch room with my brown bag in my hand. My eyes landed on a table at the far corner of the cafeteria. The people sitting at the table were Reese, Taylor, and Ariel. And of course Ariel was reading a book.

I walked over to the table and sat down. Everyone looked at me except for Ariel, who had her eyes still glued on the book. "Hey Janelle, what are you doing here?" Taylor asked. Taylor had short blonde hair, tan skin, and brown eyes. She's one of those girls who aren't really in to girly stuff. I never really talked to her much, but I could tell she was a tomboy, judging by the clothes she wore. Today she wore baggy army pants and a black tank top. She didn't have on any make up and her hair was in a messy bun. But Taylor didn't need to change who she was. She was pretty without any make up. I've seen a lot of girl tell her that she needs to change her style, but I just think that's stupid.

"Well, I just decided I'll sit here for now. You guys don't mind do you?" I asked, taking my turkey sandwich out of my brown bag.

"Nah. We don't mind." Reese said. I nodded. Reese had curly brown hair and deep blue eyes. He was the guy who went around school, hitting on every girl, even though he can never get any of them. I would talk to Reese every here and there, but not much. He's number 11 on the football team, and I must admit that he's pretty good.

I took a bite out of my sandwich and looked up at Ariel. I frowned and put my sandwich down. I brought my hands up to the book Ariel was reading and slowly took it out of her hands and closed it. I put it down on the table. "Ariel. Why don't you stop reading for a while and talk to us." I stated.

"Uhm. Okay..." I said.

"So," I began, trying to start a conversation. "What do you guys like to do for fun?"

"Skateboard, eat, and watch tv." Taylor said, popping a chip in her mouth.

"Play football, and eat." Reese said.

I nodded. I turned towards Ariel. "What about you Ariel?" I asked her.

"Read." She said.

I sighed. "You don't like to do anything else?" I questioned her. I didn't care if I were freaking her out, I'm trying to make a couple new friends here, and I'm trying to get Ariel to come out of her shyness and put down the books.

Ariel nodded. "Yeah. That's the only thing." She said. "Can I get my book back now?" She asked.

"Don't give her the book." Taylor said to me. "We've been trying to make her put that book down forever and now that she's finally got it out of her hands, I'm not letting her get it back." Taylor grabbed the book from me and stuffed it in her purse.

Ariel rolled her eyes. "What other stuff do you like to do than read books." Taylor asked Ariel.

Ariel shrugged. "I like to to dance and listen to music. Are you all happy now?" She said.

"I didn't know you could dance." I said to Ariel.

"Well I do." She said.

I shrugged and my face lit up as an i des came into my mind. "Hey, you guys wanna come to the movies with me after school? I'm seeing Daycare Death 2." I asked. Daycare Death is one of the best horror movies of all time, and the second is coming out today. I was gonna see it with Lana, but of course her parents grounded her, so I might as well bring some new people.

"Yes! I love Daycare Death." Taylor said.

"Yeah. I've been waiting to see the second one. I'm cool with going." Reese said afterwards.

I turned towards Ariel and waited for her answer. "No thanks. I have to study for a chemistry exam I'm taking on Monday." She stated, with no expression in her tone. She toke a bite out of her sandwich and looked at me with no expression in her face.

"Come on Ariel." Taylor said. "All you do is stay in the house and study. You need to get out. Remember the old days?" Ariels face instantly changed into a hurt expression. "Just come see Daycare Death 2 with us. Please." Taylor begged.

"Okay, whatever." Ariel said with a annoyed tone this time. "Can I please have my book now?" She asked, holding her hand out, waiting for Taylor to hand over the book.

Taylor rolled her eyes and took the book out of her purse. "Here. But you better show up at the movies tonight. You got it?" Taylor demanded Ariel.

"Yeah, yeah." Ariel said opening the book and reading it again.

After lunch, I walked off to get to my next class. "Janelle!" I heard Reese's voice call behind me.

I turned around to face him. Him and Taylor were running toward me. "We just wanted to apologize about Ariel. She has a little bit of an attitude." Taylor told me.

"It's okay." I said. "Maybe she'll feel better when we watch Daycare Death 2 tonight." I smiled.

"Yeah. We'll see you at the movies tonight. Bye Janelle." Reese said as Taylor waved goodbye.

I walked to my next class and spent the rest of the Friday as normal.
