THIS IS ABOUT HOW IN FANFICTIONS, PEOPLE REFFER TO DTK AS A SHINIGAMI.
I have watched both anime (Death Note and Soul Eater), and there are some differences:
-A shinigami is a god of death WITH a posession of a Death Note. The sole purpose is to kill humans that owe their time.
-A shinigami CANNOT have any feelings towards a human. If they kill someone in name of love towards a human, they will die.
-When a shinigami kills a human before their time of death, the years get added up to the shinigami.
-Shinigami have Shinigami Eyes, which enable them to see the lifespan of other people.
nOW THIS IS DTK:
-Can have feelings towards a human, that is why he cares for the other 6.
-A grimm reaper is a MIESTER, and exists to abolish evil souls.
(I also want to get straight that LD is simply a grimm reaper AAAND the personofication of death. He is just what happens when humans are old and wrinkly and have heart attacks.)
-A grimm reaper CANNOT see the lifespan of those around him/her.
-It is against the rules for a reaper to kill a human for simple pleasure.
