The new girl in the gang

Part 30

Sodas POV

Rose had been acting so weird sense we got to the fire thing, who started this fire anyway? After Pony and Johnny and Rose leave me and Steve are talking about a mustang in the shop. When a stick comes flying at Steve "WTF!" Steve yells standing up, I stand up to "who's out there?" I yell looking around, we hear no reply Dally's laughing his head off while Twos to drunk to notice.

"Who the flying F is there?" Steve yells, we hear nothing "I'm going home, it's probably just Curly." I say walking towards my house. I don't know who that was but I have this weird feeling in my stomach that I know only one person who would do that.

"Hey where were you?" Darry asks as I walk in "out in the lot, we were joking around until some stick went flying at Steve's head. It was weird." I say, "weird. Pony and Johnny are upstairs and Rose is alseep in my room." Darry say standing up, "night." "Good night Soda." Darry says walking upstairs.

Johnny and Rose have been pretty much living here for a year because Johnny turned 18. He has a job and try's to help pay the bills but Darry doesn't let him, he says Johnny needs to save his money for a house for him and Rose. I flip on the couch and close my eyes, "Soda. Soda. Wake up." Steve says shaking me awake "what do you need?" I ask annoyed "you could have payed on the other chair." I say thinking he needs a place to stay "we need one more person to pee on the fire to put it out all the way." He says holding back a laugh, I roll the other way.

I wake up to the smell of eggs, "morning Pony." I say without looking. Pony's the only who actually makes something beside chocolate cake, "hey Soda." He says, I get  up snd ready for the day.

"Hey Darry I'm working the lunch shift today." I yell before walking out the door. "I hate you for last night." I say to Steve "but love me at the same time." Steve says dramatically, I smile and we walk to the DX. "Shoot, it's Evie. Can I take the back and you work cashier?" Steve asks "sure, I'll scare her away." Steve broke up with Evie but she doesn't understand that.

I walk in "morning." I say as the other guy leaves, some people may think I'm not doing enough with my life but I'm happy working here. "Morning is Steve here?" Evie asks "nope, he's at home today". I say lying "can I help you?" I ask nicely she sighs and walks out the door.

Around 10:30 in the morning Dally comes in, "hey man, can I get the friend discount?" He asks as I clearly see him slide some cigarettes up his sleeves "yeah if you don't ever clearly shoplift in front of me again." I say smiling he smiling back, Dally been in a mood lately because Peps been gone for almost 2 years. In three day she would have been gone for 2 years, we all are kinda sad about it.

"Bye." I say and Dally walks out, he starts to smoke as soon as the door shuts behind him. I watch Dally walk away until he freezes.

Peps POV

Me and Anne fall asleep in a park area a little away from the Curtises and close to the DX. "Anne. What time is it?" I ask as I'm shaking her awake "I'm up!" She yells sitting up, "how would I know what time it is?" She asks, her watch battery died awhile back. So she wears a dead watch, "go ask someone." I tell her "I'll ask the guy in there then I'll use the bathroom." She says sitting up quickly, I nod as she walks towards the DX.

I sit on the park bench and look around at the quiet town, it's so quiet it couldn't be to late in the day, "hey, this is my territory. Scram kid."  I hear, a voice say, a kid runs past the park bench I'm sitting on. "Who are you?" I hear the one and only Dallas Winston say, I can tell he's coming up from behind me. "I'm a nobody." I say and start to walk away, "well nobody, my names Dallas." He says, I'm not even looking at him but I can feel his gaze.

Anne walks out of the store, "Penelope?" I hear some one call, without thinking I turn my head around and see Dally across the street. His mouth practically hit the floor it was opened so wide, "Penelope, it's you?" He says running across the street, "Sh*t let's go." I say grabbing Anne and leading her away "Penelope, wait!" I hear Dally cry out he runs up to me and grabs my shoulder.

I turn around reaching for my knife, "my name is Miss Winston, and if you don't mind I'm leaving." I say "I'm sorry, ok." Dally says quietly "2 years have gone bye and I now know how you felt all those years ago. When I left you but don't leave again." He begs "Dally I didn't even mean to come here it was a freak accident. I have a job I need to get to, I finally got out of Tulsa I finally found my true love. Dally I need you to move on, I'll write I promise." I yell as me and Anne run for the train station.

I know I shouldn't have left him like that but the look in his eyes, I love Dally even if he was never around when I needed him. He's blood, and soon I'm going go on to be a teacher but move back to Tulsa with Anne. Me and Anne live together and love each other, Johnny got married to Liv, Darry found someone he's happy with. And Pony... well pony's my boss, he became the principal of the school. Me and Anne will adopt a kid soon, and Dally's going be and uncle. He has yet to know that though, and in 22 years me and Anne get married because it finally became legal.
