Chapter 9 Lauren saves John & turning John into a dark ranger

Christmas is coming up and all of the students are going home for Christmas break. It's the last day before they go home for Christmas. Lauren, Jayden, and their friends decided to do a secret Santa thing. The next day all of the students went home for Christmas. When Jayden and Lauren got home they noticed that the door was open. They don't know why it was open. Then they heard a scream that came from John. They run into the house and saw someone trying to strangle John to death. I showed up right beside Lauren. "Lauren you have to save John. It is not his time." I said. I helped Lauren to get Emily Nicholson off of him. John got up. "You bitch!" John  said before bitch slapping her. "Leave! Leave this instant! Don't you ever show your face here again Emily or you'll have the police to answer to you hear me?! And also eat my shorts!" John said as Emily walked out. "Whoa, Lauren, I never knew that you had the muscles to do stuff like that." Jayden said. "I don't." Lauren said. "I guess Ariel helped you, didn't she?" John asked. "Yeah, she told me that I have to save you and I guess a wave of rage came over me and I guess Ariel thought that I still wouldn't have been strong enough so she helped me to push her off of you." Lauren said. "So, who was that girl anyway?" Jayden asked. "My evil ex-girlfriend, Emily Nicholson. She cheated on me. I was really sad when she did that but when I met your little sister I felt better. We got together and she has tried multiple times to get me back but she failed. When she got back here she was like if I can't have you no one can. She said that before she started to strangle me. I would have been dead by now if it wasn't for you and your little sister Lauren." John said. Emily looked through the window. "Someday, I'll get you." Emily said before walking away. Later that night they had a party for Lauren because she saved John's life. The next day it was Christmas eve. Lauren, Jayden, and John were all wrapping gifts for each other. After that they put the presents under the tree. "We're going to have to wait until the next morning to open them." Jayden said. "Are you sure you are going to be okay Jayden? I mean, this is the first year that we are having Christmas without our little sister." Lauren said. Jayden didn't say anything. "Oh, sorry if I brought her up." Lauren said. "It's fine, it's just, I never thought that this would happen. I thought that she was going to be here for all of the Christmases that were coming up, including this one." Jayden said. "You know, some people don't even have anyone to spend Christmas with." John said. "He's right Jayden. If I died and if John was dead too you would only be spending Christmas with Mentor." Lauren said. "Yeah, I know. You know, you should consider yourself lucky. You and Ariel never gave up without a fight, not only that but you also saved John's life, with help from Ariel." Jayden said. "So, what you're saying is that I am just like her?" Lauren said. "Yeah. Dad was the same way." Jayden said. "So was mom, well, that was until she got killed." Lauren said. "Do I need to remind you of who killed her?" Jayden asked. "No, I know who it was. In case you forgot, Ariel told us that she killed our mom and that it was just an accident." Lauren said. "Guys, don't argue with each other. It's the season of love, remember?" John asked. "Oh, right, sorry about that John." Jayden said. The next day after they opened their presents Lauren went out with a few hometown friends and John was hanging out with Jayden. It looked like they were all having fun. Later that night John was talking with Jayden. "So let me get this straight. When you were unconscious you met your guardian angel and your guardian angel is the same person who is my guardian angel?" John asked. "Yeah, at first I thought that it was mom or dad but then I found out who it really was." Jayden said. "That's so cool." John said. Later that day Lauren noticed a small cut on John's neck. When she asked him about the cut on his neck he said that it was nothing and that he was roughhousing with a few friends when he got the cut. Later that week Lauren was doing something when she noticed John grabbing the side of his neck. "John, what's wrong?" Lauren said. John couldn't say anything. That's when she noticed that the cut was bleeding. Jayden walked in and told her that she can't do anything about it. She said that no one is going to stop her from saving him and she teleports John and herself to a field with a lot of pink flowers. John looked at Lauren. "Lauren." John said. "John. You're going to be okay." Lauren said. "No please. You have to let me go. I don't have faith. This price, I don't want to become that." John said. "You won't. You can fight the darkness I can help you. We can do it together." Lauren said. "I'm not as strong as you are. I'm weak. Things I've done have come to darkness before in my life. And it was dangerous to push you away. I don't know if I can do it again." John said. "But our future." Lauren said. "I'll just be happy knowing that you have one." John said before giving what looked like his last breath. "That's not enough for me!" Lauren said while crying. Then she used some magic to save him but it turned him into a darker, more dangerous version of himself, even when he is in his ranger form. Later that night Jayden was looking for Lauren and found her in her room. He noticed something different about John. "Lauren, what happened?" Jayden asked. "I turned John into a dark ranger." Lauren said. "You turned John into a dark ranger?" Mentor Ji said. "It was the only way to save him." Lauren said. "And you didn't think about the consequences to everyone else?" Jayden asked. "I couldn't just let him die, you can understand that." Lauren said. "Well yes but... now we have a bigger problem." Mentor Ji said. "I know, I didn't think any of this would happen. I was trying to get rid of the darkness for good. You can't tell me that after everything Ariel has done your life wouldn't be easier if she was gone. She was doing you a favor." Lauren said. "Come on." Mentor Ji said.
