Jayden's year of grief (Sequel to the hybrid ranger)

Chapter 10 John's plan

Jayden sat down next to her. "This is pre-metataied murder Lauren. There had to be another way. You should have come to us." Jayden said. "And risk losing someone else? I thought the best way to control the darkness was to isolate myself but when I did that, there was no one around to give me hope or tell me that I was being stupid." Lauren said. "Fine, you're being stupid, so stop it." Jayden said. "Right now, we have to clean up this mess." Mentor Ji said. "No, we don't." Lauren said. "Give us back our memories. Your dreamcatchers, Mentor Ji can access them. We can piece together John's plan and stop him." Jayden said. "Last time when I was looking for them I couldn't find them so there is no way that I can find them now." Mentor Ji said. It turned out that John took the dreamcatchers without anyone knowing, well, everyone except Lauren but she didn't tell them about it. She didn't say anything about it. "What the hell is John up to?" Jayden asked. "I have no idea, but I bet that whatever he is up to, we'll stop him." Lauren said. Lauren looked into the last time something like this happened. She went into John's room and took his spin sword out of the closet. Little did she know that John was standing in the corner of the room. "Sorry Lauren, but I can't let you use that sword." John said as he walked towards her. "Why? So you can get your precious revenge? If I do not do this everyone I love will die." Lauren said. "And if you do, you will die. Come now, hand it over. I don't want to hurt you." John said. "Now you care what happens to me?" Lauren said. "Like it or not, I owe you." John said. "For what?" Lauren asked. "Well, if it weren't for you made me I would never become the man I always wanted to be." John said. "This is not what John wanted to be. Revenge did not matter to him." Lauren said. "Oh, it did. You just briefly distracted me. But now, I can finally make Jayden pay." John said. "Even if it means becoming the one you hate, the thing you've spent centuries trying to destroy." Lauren said. "If you didn't want me to change, you should have let me die." John said. "I'm sorry, I couldn't watch one more person I love die." Lauren said. "And now because of that you get to watch everyone you love die." John said. "No." Lauren said before trying to stab John. John disappeared and reappeared behind her. She turned to face him. "I will protect my family even if I have to kill you to do it." Lauren said. That's when John disguised himself as Jayden and tricked Lauren into giving him the sword. Then he turned back into himself. "John, do not do this." Lauren said. "It's too late for that Lauren. Enjoy the time you have left with your family." John said before disappearing. Lauren just couldn't believe that she just gave the sword to him. She went to go talk to Jayden. Meanwhile in a dark alleyway John was looking through the things in the dreamcatchers and made a plan to make Jayden pay. Then he saw the darkness circling around him. He saw all of the things that came to darkness in his life. Then Decker showed up. "Hi." Decker said. John put the hood he was wearing down. "Bloody nighlok." John said. "Not exactly but I understand the confusion." Decker said. John charged at Decker but Decker dodged his hit. "That's not gonna work. I'm not out here, I'm in there. I am your guide, the voice in your head." Decker said. "Save your speech, I know who you are. Or the half nighloks in my head. But it doesn't matter I won't listen to you." John said. "Whatever told you that together I can get you the one thing you've wanted for hundreds of years, your revenge. That's right, I saw what you saw. I saw your pain, and I can ease it. Stick with me, and you will finally do what you never could before." Decker said. "What's that?" John said. "Why, kill me, of course." Decker said. Meanwhile at the shiba house they found out his plan. His plan is to send Lauren's family to the underworld and to destroy all light magic. "Once a dark ranger always a dark ranger." Tommy said. He basically decided to help Jayden and Lauren with this because he's been a dark ranger before. (aka: evil ranger) "As a shapeshifter wolf John spent his life protecting his pack. When a member of the pack got threatened revenge was the only thing on his mind." Jayden said. "Why wiped my memory if he was going to announce his plan anyway? There must be more to it." Lauren said. "Yeah, well even if there is we only have until noon to stop him. And to save you." Tommy said while facing Jayden. "What about Kim's message?" Jacob asked. "She said this NIM away is the key to stopping the dark ranger." Jason said. Jacob and Jason are also helping them out. "Well as a dark ranger there's an easy way to do this. I can protect you guys. You just have to take off the cuff." Lauren said. Jayden is the only one that can remove it but he didn't. "You don't trust me." Lauren said. "Well, if the situations were reversed would you trust me?" Jason asked. Then Lauren's old sister friend walked in. "So true. You're here." Amilia said. "Amilia. I need you to tell them it's okay to take off this cuff. It's the only way to figure this all out." Lauren said. "No." Amilia said. "What?" Lauren said. "You lied to us, about John, about everything. Why should we trust you now?" Amilia said. "Amilia I'm your big sister friend." Lauren said. "Are you? Cause the Lauren I know wouldn't keep things from me." Amilia said. "I thought you were the one person that would understand." Lauren said. "I thought you were the one person I could trust." Amilia said. "So you can forgive Tommy for everything he's done but not me." Lauren said. "He changed, he showed everyone that he changed." Amilia said. "So did I." Lauren said. "When we first met, yeah. But the minute things got tough you didn't come to anybody. You decided that you would figure it out on your own. We were a team." Amilia said. "Operation Cobra, I remember." Lauren said. "But now, you just want your dark magic back so you can do it alone. And I've seen what you do with dark magic." Amilia said before walking away. "She needs time Lauren." Jayden said. "We should really get to the library. We have a lot to do." Jacob said.
