Chapter 12 saving John from the underworld part 2

Jayden then said something. "Forgive me if I'm missing the obvious, but how does one get to the underworld?" Jayden asked. Later that night they meet up with Decker. "Do it." Lauren said. Decker cuts his hand with a knife. "Are you sure about this?" Decker said. "Do it." Lauren said. Decker let a drop of his blood fall into the river that they are standing by. Then from some fog upriver a big boat emerges. They all go into the river to get on the boat. "John... I will find you. I will always find you." Lauren said. They get to the underworld. It looked like a cemetery. "Alright, let's do this." Lauren said. They found the tombstone that has John's name on it. "You okay?" Kimberly asked. "I just hope he is." Lauren said. Lauren used some magic dust and a beaten up version of John shows up. "John, we're here to help you, we just can't find you. Where are you?" Lauren said. "Lauren, the spell's not steady. He can't hear you." Jayden said. "Just tell us where you are." Lauren said. "Something's happening." Mentor Ji said. "It's not holding." Mia said. "Talk to us! Talk to me!" Lauren said. Then he disappeared. "John!" Lauren said as he disappeared. "He doesn't know we came for him. He doesn't know we're here, he doesn't know that I care." Lauren said. "Yes he does, and Lauren we will find him." Jayden said. "Will we? Did you not just see that? He's in pain. He's suffering. Look at this place. We have half an hour. Jason has a boat coming. You have take it or we might all be stuck here." Lauren said. "He can arrange a way out so can we after we find John. We are not giving up on you." Jayden said. "Kimberly, if they're staying you should go." Lauren said. "No I..." Kimberly said before getting cut off. "Take Tommy and Katherine, because if you don't, whatever your father is going to face..." Lauren said. "Probably looks a lot like what John is facing." Kimberly said. "So, it's settled. Get them out of here. Get yourself out of here." Lauren said. The night before she decided to go to underworld I came to her in her dream. We were both in her car. "Hey Lauren. I said as I sat up in the back seat of her car. "Ariel?" She said. "Yeah. It's really great to see you." I said. "Where are we? Am I dreaming?" Lauren said. "No, if this were a dream, there'd be like talking donuts or something weird like that." I said as I moved up to the front seat next to her. "Think of this as a long-distance call from your younger sister." I said. "It's really you." Lauren said. "How's Jayden?" I asked. "Okay. He really misses you. He's getting over it." Lauren said. "I bet." I said. "Is this the underworld? I was on my way to the underworld." Lauren said. "Yeah, I know that's where you're heading. That's kind of why I'm here. Don't go Lauren. Once you get there it is not an easy place to get out of. I know you're trying to save John, but trust me on this. This won't end the way you think it will." I said. "I would've come after you too. I didn't know I could do this." Lauren said. "You couldn't have. I'm not there. I'm not in limbo." I said. "What does that mean? That John is there? I can get him?" Lauren asked. "Yeah, he's there." I said. "Then help me. I can split my heart and give it to him. It could work." Lauren said. "The underworld is for people with unfinished business. And that isn't me. That's why I'm not there." I said. "Where are you?" Lauren asked. "Someplace where I'm happy. I only came here because I care about you Lauren. Stop what you're doing before it's too late." I said. "I can't." Lauren said. "I figured. But I had to try." I said before kissing her. "I love you Lauren. I always have, and I always will." I said before getting out of her car and walking away. She woke up after I left. Jayden left with Kimberly, Tommy, and Katherine. Jayden went to the cemetery where I was buried and poured some magic dust onto my grave to talk to me. "Jayden." I said. "Ariel. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." Jayden said as he was crying. "It's okay Jayden. It's okay." I said as I hugged him. "Is it? Am I really forgiven?" Jayden asked. "Of course. I love you no matter what. That's what siblings do, right?" I said. "I'm not sure they do. I think you're very special. I don't understand how you can be so good." Jayden said. "I'm not perfect. I have a few regrets. I don't even know which one is keeping me in this place." I said. "Well, it doesn't matter. You're not gonna suffer where you are." Jayden said. "Jayden. That's what I came to tell you. Mom and dad are going to make sure that nothing hurts me, not anymore. You're always the hero that I was proud to call my brother. That hasn't changed, and it never will." I said. "But mom and dad tried to save you then. I can't cause anyone anymore pain." Jayden said. "You know that I didn't die in vain. I died surrounded by people who love me. You were there with Lauren and John." I said. "But Mentor wasn't there with you." Jayden reminded. "I know, but I know that he also cared about me and he loved me too. I did what had to be done. I remember that like it was yesterday, even though it happened months ago. And that was my fished business." I said. Then I dissapeared. Back in the underworld John helped someone escape. But Hades didn't take kindly to that. He puts John over the river of lost souls. Lauren ran into where Hades has John. She has to cross a narrow metal beam to get to him. As she started to cross the metal beam she called out to him. "Hang on. I'm coming for you." Lauren said. She made it the rest of the way across as fast as she could and got to John just as he was about to be lowered into the river of lost souls. "I got you." Lauren said as she moved him away from the opening into the river of lost souls. As soon as she got him off the chain he was on, they looked at each other. "John." Lauren said. "I told you to let me go. You shouldn't be here. Nobody should." John said. "I never listen." Lauren said. "You're impossible." John said. "And you love me for it." Lauren said. "Not just you, Ariel was the same way." John said.
