Chapter 15 – Suspicions
“Oh Hibiki. Good to see you.” Our homeroom tacher said.
“What is it, sir?” I asked.
“I know that you’re the only one who’s close with Yuki. I would like you to give these notes to her. She never skips school without telling Mr. Kiyoteru. Maybe she’s sick or something, I don’t know. Here’s her address.” He handed the papers with his right hand and a small note with his left hand.
“You’re dismissed. You may go now. I’ll tell your current teacher that you’re excused.” He said.
I went out of the room and walked towards the exit. I passed the infirmary and someone opened the door. It was Mr. Kiyoteru.
“Oh, hi Hibiki! Good thing I saw you before you leave. Please give this to Yuki.” He said as he handed the letter.
“How did you know that I’m going to Yuki?” I asked suspiciously.
His smile didn’t change. “It’s a S-E-C-R-E-T.” Then he closed the door. Weird. Oh well. I went to Yuki’s house.
‘Maybe it’s time to say sorry.’ I thought as I stood in front of Yuki’s house. I’m staring at the doorbell and I’m actually hesitating to push it. ‘I’m just going to say sorry, pass the notes, and go home.’ After I sighed, I pushed the doorbell confidently. For the third time, no one was opening the door. I climed the gate and went in like I own the house. The front door is open but everything is quiet. I went upstairs and heard a thud sound that made me realize that someone is really there. I opened the door where I heard the sound and found Yuki who’s trying to get up from the floor. Immediately, I helped her to get back to the bed. After that, I realized that she was too hot. I touched her forehead and I’m sure that she really has a fever. I left my bag on the floor and went straight to the kitchen to get cold water. I went back to the room with a cold towel and put it on her forehead. I was planning to go to the conveniece store to get supplies for the porridge when she stopped me by grabbing my uniform. Her blue eyes looked at me sincerely.
“Whoever you are, thank you for everything.” Then she smiled for the first time in front of me. It was pure and innocent. I actually blushed. Good thing she closed her eyes and released me before she saw it. I smiled as I go down to buy the supplies.
What else do I need to buy? I thought while walking around the conveniece store to see if there’s missing. When I assured that everything’s in the basket, I lined up, paid the supplies and went back to Yuki’s house. I’ve been thinking. Is she the only one living in the house? I didn’t see anyone but her. I open the door and went straight to the kitchen to cook the porridge. I went to Yuki’s room to see if she’s okay and thought that I should change the towel. She was murmuring something.
“Ki… Ki-kun… I’m s-sorry…” I was surprised when she muttered my name.
Not unless…
I was in thinking deeply when the telephone went ringing. I hesitated answering it. But I got no choice. It must be important.
“H-hello?”
“Who are you?! Where’s Yuki?!” an angry voice replied.
“She’s… kinda sick and I’m nursing her right now. My name is-” He cut me off.
“She’s SICK?! I’ll go there now! Just stay where you are.” Suddenly hanging up.
I DON'T KNOW WHO WAS THAT BUT THINK I’M IN TROUBLE.
