Chapter 4 – Overboard

Walking back to my own house, I opened the garage and found my black Ducatti. Yukio sat on the back of the bike, silently waiting for me to finish packing necessary stuffs. Few minutes passed and I got on the bike, put on the black helmet, started the engine and left the house towards my target destination.

Where: Fisadum Mansion

Time: 10pm

Targets to meet: 3

This is the information that I investigated when Mr. Tsukimori gave me the job. It’s better to have targets in one place. ‘The more, the better, and I will get stronger’ I thought. I was thinking that I should have left Yukio and do this mission alone.

Maybe Yukio read what I was thinking and he scratched my back lightly telling, “You don’t want me to help?” I can almost read his mind because we have been together for almost 5 years.

“It’s not that I don’t want to… I don’t have any choice now, anyways. After all, you missed tagging along with me.” I just said. He just licked me as a sign of his happiness. I couldn’t express my feelings so I let him be.

Riding Ducatti at the speed of 120kph, I speed it up more to reach our destination. “Hold on.” I said and he obediently did it.

Not passing an hour, we arrived at the secret passageway connected to the mansion. I parked the bike in the dark place where it can blend with the environment. I equipped myself with my weapon, katana, and headed at the entrance of the passageway.

I looked at my watch and it was 9:45pm. ‘Fifteen minutes to infiltrate the mansion’ I thought. Before going in, we heard dogs growling that made Yukio changed his obedient stance to fighting mode where he would allow himself to kill anybody who dare to stop the mission. He brushed his right front paw to the ground telling me to go in. I nodded and told him, “Don’t you dare die on me,” before I headed for the passageway.

Running like a speed of light, I entered the underground floor of the old mansion. As far as I remember, the meeting place would on the second floor that is just above the central garden.

There are guards everywhere. I killed each and every one on the first floor without them noticing. Blood was everywhere and I didn’t mind it. It only lasted for 5 minutes to kill the people in the first floor without any commotion to disturb the guards on the second floor and the entrance gate.

As I reached the second floor, more guards are on standby and killing all of them is what I again, did. It only lasted for 3 minutes and even included the last guard stationed at the door of the meeting room.

Then I contacted Yukio.

“Kill the guards on the entrance using the custom made sniper in the bag. You know what to do next.” I said and one bark was his reply.

I took the gun from the guard and opened the door. There were 5 people – 3 men, 2 women – wherein the 3 men are my real targets. I shot the guy on the right corner of the room, threw my katana on the other guy on the left corner, and shot the woman beside him as I took my katana out from the dead man’s chest. The guy pulled out his gun but I immediately shot his hand first that made him scream in pain. With my left hand, I pierced my katana through his heart. The woman was shaking too much because of the scenes she saw and I went close to her slowly.

“No… No… No!!” the woman was freaking out.

She pulled out a small pistol from her chest but because she was shaking, she couldn’t hold it properly and she just threw the gun away. I was only a ruler away from her.

“Wh… Who are you?” she said shaking thoroughly.

“It doesn’t matter. You’ll be killed anyway.” I said before cutting her head off. Blood spatted my right cheek but I didn’t mind it.

I used her pure white dress to clean my blood stainted blade and brought it back to its sheath.

“Come.” I said over the mic.

Yukio came in by the front door carrying the black bag. I opened it and took the bomb to put it in the room. It wasn’t the only bomb planted, for Yukio already put one in the passageway and the entrance gate. He was my partner for a long time so he knows where to put it. I planted more bombs in other places and in few minutes, we left the mansion and headed back to the bike.

After a distance of 1km away from the mansion, I had Yukio push the button on my right pocket of my black coat. We just heard the boom sound as we went back home.

We went straight to Uncle’s house and parked the Ducatti inside the garage. I looked at my watch and it was 11:30pm. I first took Yukio to shower and I followed. After changing myself to pajamas, I got to the bed where Yukio was sleeping. We often sleep together whenever I go to this house. I hear a flute’s music outside the door and I know it was Uncle playing the lullaby that he made for me.

“I said don’t wait for us. But still thank you for everything.” I said softly as I close my eyes.

Touma’s POV

My phone rang.

“She went overboard! She even took my assignment!” an angry voice said. It was Red Moon.

“Now, now. Don’t be angry. She won’t have any assignment for a month as her punishment. I’ll give you another one alright?” I said.

“Tch! Fine! I’ll get it tomorrow.” He said and hung up.

I sighed but my smile didn’t leave my lips.

“You’re becoming beautiful, Black Shadow. Only a little more…” I said and laugh devilishly.
