Chapter 19 - Feelings to Notice

Yuki’s POV

I woke up while someone was stroking my hair. It was weird. I’m supposed to be cautious when it comes to someone touching me. But I just felt secure with that hand.

I suddenly sit up straight when I remembered where I am. “Sorry for sleeping.” I said as I fix my glasses.

“OKAY! It’s already late now. Don’t you LOVE BIRDS should get home?” Mr. Kiyoteru said as he suddenly slid the door.

“We’re not love birds, Mr. Kiyoteru.” I said stiffening my emotions once again.

“Yep! And we’re just getting ready to leave. Thank you for taking care of me, sir.” Hibiki already recovered from the fever. Being cheery and all gives the hint of it.

 We took our bags from the classroom and left school.

 “I’ll walk you home.” He said as he took my bag from me. I couldn’t reject him because I might get him angry again.

 There was a long silence as we walked to my house. Since I wanted to remove the awkwardness that is happening between us, I started to talk with a question.

 “Why did you come to school even though you’re not feeling well?” I said as I fix my glasses.

 “….Eh.. I was only going to check if you’re going to school. But… the fever affected me more and making me sleep for the whole day.” Hibiki said as he scratched his head.

 “I see. But next time, you shouldn’t do that since I couldn’t get to my class.” I just replied.

 “Okay! I won’t do that again because of you being worried, you ended up skipping classes.” He gave me a smug and raised both of his eyebrows twice. I don’t know if he was teasing me but I felt my cheeks became hot which I don’t know why. Since I couldn’t answer, I just stayed silent.

 Another silence. It continued until we arrived at my house. Hibiki gave my bag and waited for me to get through the gate. I was turning my back from him until he called me out.

 “Yuki, tomorrow is Saturday, right? Would you like to go out with me? Well, not the ‘go out’ like ‘dating’ or something… I just… Gah!! How should I say this…” He’s getting nervous all of the sudden.

 “You mean, you want me to come with you as a thank you for taking care of you right?” I tried to help him answer his own question.

 “Uhh… Well, yeah, YEAH! That’s what I’m telling.”

 “I don’t mind. I have nothing to do anyway.” I just replied in a monotone.

 “Okay! I’ll be waiting for you at park at 10am alright?” He gave a big grin.

 I just nodded and went inside. After closing the door behind me, my heart was overflowing with heat. I just couldn’t understand it.

 Hibiki’s POV

 After Yuki closed the door, I jumped with the best that I can. ‘YES!’ I happily thought. Though to Yuki it won’t be “dating”, but for me it would be. ‘But wait… priority first. I have to let her remember.’ That was the plan. To go to the places that will make her remember everything.
