Chapter 17 – The Reverse

I opened my eyes having a relaxed feeling. My fever, is it gone? I don't know how many hours I've been sleeping. The only thing I know is, someone took care of me.

It was nighttime. I got up from the bed and went out of the room to see if someone was there. Luckily, I saw uncle, drinking coffee on the dining table. Maybe he felt my presence that's why he looked at where I was.

"Oh. You're finally awake. Are you okay now?" He asked with a worried childish face.

"Yes I am. Thank you for taking care of me." Being emotionless.

He suddenly became serious. "Don't thank me. Thank Hibiki. He was here a while ago. He was here for the notes." Then changed into a childish attitude again. "Why didn't you tell me you're sick..." He pouted.

"I'm sorry. Didn't want you to worry." 'Weird. When he told me about Hibiki, his expression changed where I didn't see it before.'

"By the way, there's a pot of porridge here. I'll go back to my house." He stood up. "Yukio, stay here and guard Yukio." Yukio just stayed in the kitchen, sitting obediently.

"Good night, uncle." He just nodded and I felt like he's thinking deeply of something.

I ate the porridge, took a quick shower and went back to my room with Yukio.

I closed my eyes again thinking of how I should thank Hibiki for what he did.

The next day...

I looked at the calendar. It's just my 5th day of punishment. Too many events already happened but it seems the time is too slow. 'I still have 25 days.' I thought.

I got up, cooked food, and asked Yukio to take the excess food to Uncle's house and there with him. He obediently did it. I took a shower, wore my uniform and headed for school.

Honestly, I still haven't given the thought of how I should thank Hibiki for taking care of me. It will be my first time approaching a person.

As I got in my class, I saw him. And yes, he was all alone. 'He is sleeping, I guess.' Before I made a move, the bell rang and that made me go back to my seat. 'Another wasted opportunity' I just took a glance at him and then went back listening to our homeroon teacher.

The lunch bell rang and he was still slumped on his desk. I don't know why, but something's not right. This time, I approached him without hesitation. I don't care if someone will drag me out as long as I know that he's okay.

'Care? When did I care for him?' I just avoided my thoughts and went close to him.

"Hibiki, it's lunch time. Aren't you going down to eat your lunch?"

He's not waking up. I touched his skin. 'He's hot. Maybe he caught my fever.'

"Hey Hibiki, you need to go to the infirmary." I said while shaking him.

"Hmmmm..." That's all he could say.

'I can't carry him. He's a boy and everyone will notice.'

Just when I could think of a plan on how to carry him to the infirmary, Mikuo, again, gave another unbelievable entrance. He slid the door in our class so hard that I think the door was almost broken.

"I SO MISS YOU YUKI! You've been gone for two days. You should've contacted me."

The decision came on my mind right away.

"Can you lend me a hand?" I asked.

He looked at the person who I was staring to.

He smiled mischievously. "Then, you'll be in debt to me right?"

'You already know that.' "... I know."

"Alright! Gentlemen!" He clapped his hands twice and immediately, butlers just like the ones in the garden came out from nowhere. They brought Hibiki in the infirmary without a sweat.

"My, my. Mr Mikuo, what do we have here?" Mr. Kiyoteru said when the butlers have already placed Hibiki to the bed.

"It's just a charity help to a friend of mine." Mikuo answered as he looked at me and winked.

"I see. By the way, it's rare for you to go anywhere without Kousuke."

"Oh... He's doing some business that's why he can't come today." Mikuo turned to me. "Why don't you repay your debt now?"

"Not today. I want to stay here." I said frankly.

He pouted. "I understand you. But next time, there's no turning down when I invite you again." He looked at Mr. Kiyoteru. "Maybe I'll play with Matsuda Kei."

Mr. Kiyoteru chuckled. "Sure, I don't mind. But you can't wait for him here. He doesn't want to see my face like you guys do. Don't ask, because I don't know either."

"Hai!!" Mikuo smiled and ran out of the infirmary.

"There are still some things that I have to take care of, Yuki. So stay there and take care of him." He walked out before I could say something.

I looked at Hibiki who was silently sleeping.

'This is trouble.'
