– A while back –
Hinata's POV
Will he even let me in? I pondered while standing on the doorstep. Well.. I won't know until I try. I shrugged. I knocked on the door for a while. After I was done with waiting, I tried to open the door myself, but this time it wouldn't even budge.
Locking the door won't stop me, dumbass. I snickered to myself. It just happens that I'm desperate enough to break in, if I had to. But before I do so.. I walked around the mansion for a bit, rather than destroying something, I thought I should first look for a different way in.
"Found ya!" I shouted as I noticed an opened window by the side of the mansion. It was a bit high up, but not enough for me to give up on breaking in through it. I decided to climb up a nearby tree to get to it. "Ughh.. I-I'm not gonna give up, Komaeda..! I'll show you, you bu--!" Just when I was shouting out my determination, I lost my balance and fell all the way down. It fucking hurt, as you can imagine.
"I-it huuurts..!" I whined as I tried to lift myself up from the ground. I could feel pain radiating from my left leg. It wasn't that bad though. I need to watch my step.. I groaned and massaged the place which hurt to ease the pain, so I could try climbing again. This time it went better, I was close to reaching the window and when I did, I quickly yet carefully stuffed myself inside the mansion. To my dismay, I fell face down and ass up right onto the cold floor. In the end, I was too impatient and not as careful as I'd like to be. Great, Hajime. Falling once wasn't enough, was it? I bonked myself.
I quickly stood up gathering my scattered pride and looked around the part of the mansion I was in. I'm in a hallway, I think. His room should be somewhere around here. Then I said out loud, "At least Komaeda didn't—". Just when I was about to feel somewhat relieved I saw him looking right at me from a few meters away. I felt an overwhelming rush of embarrassment. "D-did you..?" I asked him with shreds of hope still lingering in my voice.
He nodded eagerly. "H-Hinata-kun, so cute! Your ass came flying through the window!" he laughed without any restraint, but soon stopped laughing and reduced the distance between us. "I-is.. that.." he kneeled before me. "H-Hinata-kun..! You need to be more careful! You're bleeding.." I looked down on my knee, I was wearing shorts, so it was easy for him to spot it. "E-ehh... sorry. Y-you locked the front door, so.." He still cares about me. I can't help but feel hopeful.
Komaeda stood up and frowned looking at me with serious and somewhat cold eyes. "I did. I did it so.. you'd give up on me, Hinata-kun. I've told you already, I want to split paths with you. I meant it." It hurts, dammit. Stop doing this to me..! I begged in my thoughts but kept my composure.
I expected him to list the reasons why he thought we shouldn't be together or some kind of bullshit like that, but to my surprise he didn't.
"We can have this conversation after I treat your wound, I wouldn't want it to get infected. Wait here." Right after commanding me, he left and entered one of the rooms by the corridor. I assumed he went to grab a first-aid kit from the bathroom. Meanwhile, I sat on a window sill. He came back not long after, kneeled down once again and started treating it. "Again, this might sting." He warned me beforehand. I hissed as the cotton drenched with disinfectant came in touch with my wound.
