Komaeda's POV

I wasn't doing much after Hinata-kun had left, mainly laying on the sofa in all the weird ways possible. I got a message at some point but I was too lazy to check it. I assumed it wasn't anything important anyway. It couldn't have been Hinata-kun texting me, he was busy with school, and since it wasn't him, I couldn't be bothered with checking it. Anyway, it was just 10 o'clock in the morning. I still had plenty of time to check it later.

The house was quiet and I'd been enjoying the silence surrounding me, or trying to, when a sudden, persistent sound of knocking snapped me out of my trance. I rolled to the side and, since I still felt just as lazy as before, I fell right onto the cold floor. I quickly picked myself up from the ground and groaned. Whoever it is, I doubt it's him... I slowly dragged myself to the front door while trying to make a guess about the identity of my guest.

I had a few plausible guesses in my mind, but none of them were any close. When I opened the door I saw two policemen standing before it. I smiled nervously and felt cold shivers running through my body. "You're under arrest!" shouted firmly the taller officer. "I-I'm... what?" I questioned the stranger, but just a few seconds of analyzing the situation were enough for me to realize that I was fucked.

"Shut it, moron! I told you we weren't going to arrest him. Stop making a scene, sheesh." said the officer who appeared to be in his forties to the other one, scolding him. I had a feeling that I knew him so I assumed I must've met him when I was younger. "Aww... what a shame." the tall officer mumbled in response. Then the older one looked at me apologetically. "I'm officer Watanabe and" he pointed at his younger companion. "This is my subordinate, Nakamura. We'd like to ask you to come with us to the police station. We just want to ask you a few things, no worries." he said calmly. It didn't make me feel any better though and the officers quickly picked up on that.

"We've been contacted by your aunt, she gave us new leads regarding cases you're involved in. It's in your best interest to help us with moving forward with our investigation, I believe." officer Watanabe explained. "S-so... I'm not arrested, right?" I asked with a quiet, raspy voice.

"Unless you resist." The response made me straighten up my posture. I laughed loudly, although the officers were polite and didn't do anything to make me feel unsafe, my nerves got the best of me. Since I knew officer Watanabe, I thought I could joke around a bit to somewhat ease my anxiety.

I looked behind the younger officer, trying to gain their attention. "Oh no! Officer! Behind you, there's a very suspicious person trying to run away!" I shouted, trying to make my voice as dramatic as possible. The officer turned around, confused. "Where?!" He scanned his surroundings carefully. Not seeing anything out of the ordinary, he glanced back at me with a frown. "There's no one there..." He appeared to slowly pick up that I was just goofing around. I thought that'd be about as far as I could take that joke, but then officer Watanabe joined me in trolling him. "You sure, Nakamura? I'm pretty sure I saw someone hiding right over there."

He quickly turned around and appeared to be gradually getting more frustrated. Then Watanabe added, "Run, boy! While you still have the chance!" He laughed loudly after saying that, officer Nakamura on the other hand, finally realized what was going on and got flustered.

"Th-that's unfair! You were in on it. What if he really ran away?" I just awkwardly laughed at that. Just when I thought that'd be the end of it, I got handcuffed by him. Both me and officer Watanabe looked at him with wide open eyes. "Ha! I bet you didn't think I'd do it." He burst with laughter though only he seemed to find his practical joke funny. I could still pretty much run away but I'll keep it to myself. "Alright, you got him. Now free him, will you?" said the other one. "There was no need to go that far."
