I was ready to wait for a while so I was glad to see my aunt's car drawing near the property. I proceeded towards her and saw her getting out of the car. "Nagito!" She waved to me as I got closer. "Where's Hinata-kun?" I asked her, worried. "Oh he's sleeping in the car, it seems today was quite tiresome for him." So Hinata-kun had it rough today too, huh... Concerns regarding his well-being filled my mind.
"Are you okay? You look way more pale than usual..." she touched my cheek, then forehead with her hand. "I'm fine. Just really tired." Just as I said that my stomach rumbled very loudly, making an ungodly sound of a sea creature. It made my aunt chuckle and me quite embarrassed... "Add hungry to that!" She laughed and wiped a tear away. "Yuriko-neesan, you're being mean. I haven't eaten anything the whole day..." I said while my cheeks dusted with pink. "Oh dear." She stopped laughing and gaped at me. "Let's go to a drive through on the way back... okay?" She comforted me with a soft smile and–since I was taking a while to get in the car–she encouraged me, "C'mon, let's go and get our bellies filled! I'll let you in on some details on the way!" My aunt's car windows were tinted so I didn't know where Hinata-kun was but I guessed the backseats and got it right.
He was sound asleep and had a soft, relaxed expression. So cute... I got inside and put a seatbelt on. I tried my best not to wake him up. She slowly left the parking lot of that horrible facility. "How was it on your side, Yuriko-neesan?" I wanted to know more about Hinata-kun's situation. "Surprisingly, it went quite well! Well, speaking on behalf of my objective to get an opportunity to talk with them." She made a pause then continued, "Hinata-kun... will probably need you to be kind to him, got it? It was quite unpleasant to see his parents' interactions with each other and the way they treated him... He's a really strong boy for having put up with that while growing up." Hearing her words made me frown in deep concern. Just a bit more... I'll protect you.
I looked over at him. He was still sound asleep and softly snoring. I held his hand tenderly in caution to not startle or wake him up. It made me feel fluffy inside when I noticed a slight smile appearing on his adorable face. "In the end, his dad agreed to let him transfer to the new school! Now praise me for how awesome I am, hehehe!" Hearing those words eased me a little and made me ecstatic when imagining moving together with him to the dorm and attending classes in the new school. That's gonna be a fresh beginning for us. Can I really hold onto this hope? "Thank you... Yuriko-neesan." We exchanged some more information about what happened on both of our sides.
"Seems like it was rough for you too... we'll get through this, Nagito! Let's keep moving forward through this seemingly endless dark tunnel!" She seemed to be pumped up about this. I wanted to share her enthusiasm, but I was still struggling with staying hopeful.
"I'm not quite looking forward to tomorrow th—" I got interrupted by someone's groans and moans. It was Hinata-kun, slowly waking up. "Eh...?" He softly spoke while rubbing his eye with his free hand. "Good mor..." he glanced around till he saw me. His eyes widened and I got caught off guard by the happy expression he showed me. "Komaeda! Koma—!" he threw himself at me but since the seatbelt was in the way he got pushed back and I can only assume that it hurt him a bit. This whole set of events startled and worried me.
"Hinata-kun! A-ahh... are you okay?" I asked as I held him and softly caressed his chest area, where I presume it hurt the most. "Ah! I-I'm fine... sorry about that, haha!" After a while I added, "I probably stink so it's best if you let go, Hinata-kun." I let go of him first so he'd be able to. He seemed to be slowly gaining an understanding of the situation. He inched away from me and awkwardly scratched his head. "That was cute!" Shouted Yuriko-neesan, beating me to it. "Ah. Yuriko-san! Right... we were back in my... oh." He took notice of something. "How was it, Komaeda?" He turned to me, with a worried and somewhat excited expression. I sighed and smiled weakly at him, "I'll tell you later." I didn't want to worry him nor lie about it, so I tried to make it seem like I was just out of strength to talk at the moment.
