"Hinata-kun... wake up." My body felt stiff and uncooperative, so I groaned, unresponsive to someone's demands. "Hinata-kun. I know you can hear me. Open your eyes." Reluctantly, I obeyed. Being already aware of it being Komaeda didn't actually prepare me for what I was about to see. A close-up of his face just a few inches away. He swiftly covered my mouth before I let out a shout. "Shh, don't make much noise, okay?" He whispered. Don't tell me... did he sneak into the room to try out his newly discovered kink or some shit...?! Feeling too embarrassed to keep my eyes open, I soon closed them again. There's no way he'd do anything risky like that...
"..." Nothing was spoken for a long, long time. I couldn't feel any shift of his weight either which set an anxious feeling in me for whatever reason. "You're scaring me." I complained with a quivering voice. No response. "It's not funny, you know?" Without opening my eyes, with all my might, I tried to push him off to the side. Unfortunately, as I tried to do so, I ended up falling off to the ground. "Shit—!" The fall wasn't that bad, but I could feel my arms and hands aching quite a bit. He's still so weirdly quiet... Isn't he even a tiny bit concerned about me falling down? Finally, I opened my eyes just to realize to my dismay that I was out in the woods again, entangled in vines that restricted my movements.
"D-did you put that shit on me? What the fu—!?" The vines were tightening around my neck, restricting my breathing and slowly strangling me as if they were living things. Living vines?! In desperation, I began pulling on them one by one. That only seemed to worsen things, as they got even tighter around my body. It was then when I saw them. My own hands, deteriorating like a rotting corpse. With every last bit of my strength, I tried turning around, successfully doing so. As I did, out of nowhere Komaeda appeared on top of me again. Or at least I assumed it was him, everything was almost pitch black. I felt his hands touching my face.
What.... What's happening?! There's that horrible smell again...! My mouth was forced open with an absurd amount of strength. My jaw almost broke! What the hell?! The texture of the hand was really weird and hardened. There's no way this is Komaeda...! "Ghck...! Sh-... op! Gulgh....!" Please stop! I began feeling nauseous all over again. That feeling of dread and despair creeping up on me. The figure's head drew closer to mine. Even though it was all but shadow, that distinct and disgusting eye kept staring at me. What is that thing doing here?! I couldn't move anymore, my strength had vanished. All I could do was continue making gurgling sounds as that thing's decaying fingers crawled into my mouth. Every nerve in my body was still alert, just to worsen my situation. Komaeda... save me! My face had already darkened yet I felt tears falling from the corners of my eyes. At the brink of passing out, as if things weren't already bad enough, I could feel maggots spilling from the shadowy figure's mouth, slowly crawling their way to mine.
I darted awake in a cold sweat. A gentle, early morning light welcoming itself illuminated the hospital room. For a while I struggled with a coughing fit, being completely overwhelmed by that horrible nightmare. "Hah... hah... a dream...?" I tried to catch my breath. Covering my face with one of my hands, I silently began sobbing. "God... what the fuck is wrong with my brain?" Although it took some time, the warm morning light helped me with calming down.
Then the door slid open. There, on the other side, Yuriko-san and who I assumed was Komaeda, were already waiting for me. "Ah, good morning, Hinata-kun!" His aunt waved her hand energetically. She moved to the side and sure enough there he was too, looking sort of drowsy but definitely way better than yesterday which was a big relief. Closing the distance between us, he approached me. "Morning. We'll wait outside for you to get ready." He assured me. "Are you feeling fine though? You still look pale..." His concern brought my attention to how badly the nightmare affected me physically. I was in cold sweat still shivering. "M-mhm! I'm fine. Hah... I just had a pretty shitty dream."
