We were on our way to our school. Despite feeling excited about that day yesterday, today I couldn't help feeling worried. I was concerned what others would say when they'd see him once again, really concerned, but.. I couldn't help wanting him to experience normal life, he deserved that after all.
I should be able to make things right between them and him. I mean.. Nanami and Souda seemed to be less judging of him that day when they visited him with me at his mansion, right..? Technically things should go well, after all, if they accept him then I'm sure others will too eventually. I tried to convince myself. Truth to be told, it was more of an impulse that made me suggest to him going to school and deep down in my subconscious I knew there was only a slight chance things would go well but.. I was a naive idiot who didn't want to back off after going that far.
"Are you sure it's a good idea..?" his hesitant tone of voice made it clear to me that he didn't feel ready at all to do that but soon he shook his head. "I-I can't keep being negative like this!" he shouted with a trembling voice. "I.. believe you after all." he looked at me warmly and then once again into the distance. "If you think it'll do me good to try clearing out things between me and them, then not doing so would feel to me like disrespecting you.." his words were barely audible but I still made out sense from them.
I slowly stopped walking and looked down. "Komaeda.." I said his name while regret was hitting me more and more. "If.. you don't want to go there, we don't have to. It can wait, y'know..! We still are just freshmen and will have to attend school for 2 years more.." I took a deep breath trying to calm down, I felt awfully bad for making Komaeda go there with me, I wanted to stop him. I didn't know what the heck in my sick brain made me think that going there now would do any good to him. "There's plenty of time, let's go back, I'll walk you back–" Komaeda interrupted me mid sentence by pressing his lips against my forehead.
