Karl POV
After eating the chicken and pasta that George's mum had kindly cooked for all of us, time was starting to get on.

We all dispersed into different rooms, taking it in turns to go into the bathroom and get changed into pyjamas.

The only people who remained in the same clothes were Tubbo and George which no one questioned them on.

George had brought down his old Xbox with the games and controllers, Clay, Nick, Alex and Zak all playing Minecraft.

I was glad to see them getting along, even if the main problems still weren't in the air I knew it wasn't long until they were.

"Hey Karl!" Darryl smiles at me, sitting on my mattress to engage in a full conversation.

"Hey Bad, how are you doing?" Now that George was back we were all starting to use our nicknames.

"I'm actually really good, I'm happy so many of us are here and we get to hang out for a while" His smile was genuine as he looked around at all our friends.

"Yeah me too, it's long overdue, how are you feeling about George being back?" I ask, my eyes glancing over to the brunette talking to the young boy.

"I'm over the moon, although of course I am worried about him. A year is a long time to be gone, he must've been through some stuff" He sighs, now also looking over at George.

"We've just got to wait until he's ready to talk to us I guess, none of us really want to push him into talking..." I trail off, looking back at him.

"Speaking of talking, now that George is back don't  you think we should all talk about what happened?" I watch as his face falters and he looks down at his hands in his lap.

"I don't mind talking about it..it's just Zak, I don't know if he wants to yet, does George even know this is the first time we are all hanging out since he was gone?" he asks and I shake my head.

"No...he doesn't even know what happened with his parents and why his dad isn't here, we don't really know how to like ask him stuff" I admit, looking back over to the brunette who seemed to be helping Tubbo go to sleep.

"Well then what do you know?" He asks, curiosity laced in his tone. "We know he got kidnapped by Mr. Schlatt, we've seen the place he was held in which is where we found Tubbo. George said that Tubbo is Schlatt's son but he lived with his mum, so when she died he had to live with them" I explain, watching as his eyes flick from me to George.

"That's about as much information we've gotten, maybe once we've all spoken and cleared the air we can focus more on George" I finish, Darryl giving a faint smile and nod.

I look behind him to see the others turning off the Xbox and putting their controllers down, walking over to us and sitting down.

"Hey guys, what're you talking about?" Nick asks, looking at me. "Not much, just that we should all talk soon" I say, loud enough for the group to hear.

"Well it's getting late, why don't we talk about it in the morning? It's better than sleeping in a bad mood" Clay suggests, the rest of us agreeing.

"Yeah okay, As long as we actually clear this up, I think we all deserve an explanation of some sort" Zak adds, we all quietly make our way to our designated sleeping spot for the night.

I dim the lights enough so it wasn't pitch black and you could still see who was in front of you. I take my spot next to Nick on the mattress.

George POV

I sat on the mattress next to Tubbo's sleeping body, hearing faint snores and breathing from the people in the room.

I pull the blanket over Tubbo more as I get up, deciding it was pointless to try to sleep any longer.

I check my phone to see the time of 4:03am, my mum would have work today but luckily they cut her hours because of 'unusual circumstances' aka, me not actually being dead.

I decide it would be a nice gesture to make my mum her favourite breakfast, scrambled egg on toast and a hot cup of tea.

Since she woke up around quarter past I had just about enough time to make it and serve it to her warm.

I take the eggs from the fridge and place them on the counter, then taking out a measuring jug. I grab a fork from the drawer and put it down.

I crack 2 eggs into the jug and whisk them up with the fork, then putting the jug into the microwave.

I put the egg shells into the bin before filling the kettle with water, flicking down the button to allow the water to boil.

I could already hear movement from upstairs as I take out a cup, putting a teabag and 2 spoons of sugar inside.

The microwave dings and I take the jug out, whisking it once again and putting it back in.

As the kettle flicks the button back up I pour the now boiling water into the cup, getting out a teaspoon out to stir it, then leaving it to sit.

I take out a piece of bread and pop it into the toaster, then grabbing a plate out of the cupboard.

I put the eggs back into the fridge as I take the milk out. I throw the tea bag away after pushing it against the side of the cup.

I add the milk and stir it, the microwave going off not long after.

I take out the scrambled eggs and place them on the side, my mother then walking through into the kitchen.

"George? What're you doing up so early?" She asks, looking over at the food I was making.

I hand her a cup of tea "Making you your favourite breakfast" I smile, I didn't want to worry her with the fact that I was struggling to get any sleep.

She sits down with a big smile on her face "I've missed you so much you know" she sighs.

"I know" I faintly smile back, the toast pops out and I put it on the plate, grabbing the butter from the fridge and a knife out of the drawer.

I spread the butter across the toast and put the scrambled eggs on top, handing her the plate with a clean fork.

"You didn't used to be this much of a chef, I guess I've got a lot to learn" she smiles, happily eating the food in front of her.

"Yeah.." I didn't really know what else to say, a lot had changed but I wasn't a completely different person.

"About Tubbo, they want to do a checkup on him like they did for you, I was thinking I could sort out paperwork before I get home from work and make an appointment in a couple days" She says, taking another sip of tea.

"Yeah okay that sounds good, He needs clothes too as he's just using mine at the moment, I'll also look into a job at some point" I add and she looks at me with something I couldn't quite recognise.

"Well I can give you some money for you guys to pick some clothes and essentials up, I mean you'll know what to get him more than I will" she says, diving into her handbag.

"Okay but I'll pay you back when I can" I say, taking the £200 in cash.

"Dont worry about it dear, I'm going to be his guardian aren't I? I'll have to pay for things like that" she explains, I looked down at the money.

"Isn't this a bit much?" I ask and she shakes her head, finishing her food. "I'll look into buying him a bed also, but I really should get going, have fun today alright? I'll see you later" she smiles, picking her bag up.

"Have a good day at work" I smile, watching her put her shoes on by the door.

"Thank you for breakfast" she smiles sweetly as she closes the door behind her.
