Karl POV
I managed to get home while my father wasn't there, getting my clothes washed and leaving my usual necessities that I keep in my bag anyway.
I hardly kept anything at home since I didn't really come here too often. I always had everything on me.
I was pretty excited about today. Not only would we be hanging out as a full group for the first time in forever but it was a long sleepover.
George's mum had said she would pick us up so we wouldn't have to sort lifts out or anything. All of us knew it was mainly because she didn't want one of us lying about our whereabouts like George did.
Nevertheless I got picked up from my house. It was a 7 seated car, George's mum and Clay at the front, Nick, Alex and I in the middle and 2 seats up in the back as we then travelled to pick up Zak and Darryl.
We had all become pretty close with George's mum so she was easy to have a conversation with.
"What's Tubbo like?" Clay asks and she shrugs "I'm not too sure but he seems very protective over him" she responds.
We carried on talking about what this week was going to be like. All of us having different thoughts except we knew it definitely wouldn't be boring.
Eventually we picked up both Zak and Darryl. It was still a little awkward with them both but it was mostly awkward with Zak.
We all made small talk, the two of them desperate to see George.
George POV
I helped Tubbo wash his hair and dug around my clothes in hopes to find something that wouldn't completely swallow him.
I settle on a hoodie that was too small for me now and put it over his head, then taking a pair of shorts and tightening the strings to fit him.
I knew at somepoint this week I would need to buy him some clothes that would actually fit him.
"A lot of people are going to be here soon okay?" I say, handing him a bowl of cereal that he ate.
"Who? Are they going to hurt us?" He asks and I sit down beside him "No they're my friends, you'll be safe okay? I won't let anything bad happen to you" I reassure him.
"What's going to happen to daddy?" He questions and I give him a faint smile "He's going away for a long time, Your going to stay here with me, how does that sound?" I ask and his eyes light up.
"So we're safe?" He asks again "Yes Tubbo we're safe, finish your breakfast, I'll show you where we're sleeping tonight" I say, waiting until he finishes his food.
I know I should probably be eating more than I am but it makes me feel sick. I wanted to focus on Tubbo above everything.
I show him the mattresses and sofas in the living room. "Woah this- this looks like the basement" Tubbo says, a frown then tugging at George's lips.
He was glad Tubbo wasn't old enough to understand what the basement was actually used for.
"50 quid!" A man shouts, George couldn't move from where he was standing, neither could he see the men bidding on him. "150!" "300!" The bids kept going up, there was mixtures of male and female voices. "700 going once..going twice...sold for 1 hour" George felt the chains loosen and his hands set free.
"George! When do we get to play?" Tubbo frowns from the stairs. "In an hour Toby come on, upstairs now" Schlatt takes him back up the stairs. George felt cold hands touch his pale skin, slamming him into one of the many old mattresses left on the floor. "You better make this worth my money" the guy spits, wasting no time unbuckling himself.
"Yeah I guess it does, which mattress do you want?" I ask and he dives into the one in the furthest corner. "Okay we will take that one-" He turns his head when he hears the front door.
His mum walked in first and then all of his friends piled in. Two familiar faces he had missed appear amongst them.
"Skeppy! Bad!" I go over to them, giving them both a hug. I could hear them crying as we embraced.
"You have no idea how long I've wanted to hear those names leave your mouth" Darryl smiles, wiping his eyes.
"You guys can go claim sleeping places and get your bags in, Tubbo and I have claimed space in the furthest corner" I say, letting them all file in, Tubbo coming over to stand by me.
After 20 minutes of bickering, mostly from Clay and Nick, the bed arrangement was made.
Zak and Darryl would take the sofa and mattress on the opposite end of the room to Tubbo and George. Alex and Clay had their own mattresses while Nick and Karl shared one.
George's mum had disappeared into the kitchen to start cooking food for everyone. "Tubbo I want you to meet my friends" George says, grabbing everyone's attention.
He points people out and says their names, Tubbo just nodding as he still wasn't very comfortable.
I pick him up and hold him on my hip. I don't mind holding him as I did it a lot. Tubbo always felt safer when I carried him.
I leave my friends to talk, taking Tubbo with me into the kitchen to speak to my mother.
"Hey mum" I start, making her look up from her food, a big smile forming on her face.
"Hey sweetie, everything okay in there?" She asks and I nod. "I was actually hoping to talk to you about something" I say, grabbing her full attention immediately.
"Oh? What about?" She asks, stirring the pasta in the pot. "About Tubbo, With Schlatt in prison and no mother or other relatives he only has me, I would become his legal guardian myself but I'm not old enough yet, do you think you could? I promise I'll look after him, I'll get a job and-" "Of course I will baby, you don't need to get a job or anything like that, I can see you guys are close and I'd be happy to give him a home here" She reassures me, giving me a smile.
"Thank you mum" I smile back "Thank you" Tubbo finally musters up the courage to talk to someone other than George.
"Your very welcome sweetie, now go, have fun, we will sort paperwork out about it another day" she smiles.
I carry Tubbo back into the room, joining the other boys in their conversation.
