Chapter 16

"We don't need you. We need your friend."

"Harry."

"What are you gonna do with him?" I asked.

"I don't know. Our alpha says he's special."

I darted through the woods in search of Harry. I saw Zayn running by a path of dried up paw prints. I jumped I front of him. "Zayn. Go back home."

"Penny. You're really confusing me."

"Just go. Please."

"This involves Harry. He's my friend too."

"But I don't want you to get hurt." I pleaded.

"I'm going with you. And that's final."

I sighed and let him climb on my back. I'm totally regretting taking him with me. I ran, Zayn holding tightly to the fur on my back, as I followed Harry's scent. The scent came to an end and I saw Harry sleeping, surrounded by other wolves. A few stepped aside from their circle to let in who I guess was their alpha.

The alpha was taller than them, sleek black with one electrifying blue eye. The other had a large scar over it and smaller ones around it, causing it to be closed.

Zayn hopped down from my back and let me find a good angle to jump in. I could hear everything they said.

"Finally. It's him."

The black wolf motioned towards Harry, flipping him over in his slumber. One wolf grabbed a bag, holding an open jug in its mouth. The black wolf put some of what was in the jug on its nose and rubbed it on Harry's front leg. Harry's leg looked injured, maybe from a fall.

It started to sparkle, and seep through his skin. Harry's arm didn't look damaged anymore. It looked...healed.

"Better. We need to wait for him to wake." The voice was low and dark. It was raspy and had a British accent to it. Not fully though, as if it had spent some time in America. They walked away from Harry, leaving him to sleep.

Once the wolves left, I ran down to Harry. He almost immediately woke up. "What do you want?" he asked grumpily.

"You're lucky you fell asleep. You would have been kidnapped."

"Yea right."

"I'm serious. Look at your arm." I perked my head, gesturing him to his once injured arm. Harry stood up, using the leg like nothing had happened to it. "Now do you believe me when I say that there is another pack?"

"I believed it on my way home. I only said I didn't because I was angry. I'm sorry I snapped at you." he said.

I gave him a smile. "Apology accepted." I helped him up the hill, taking Zayn on my back and heading back to the house.

Halfway home, Zayn started to freak out on my back. "Penny. Harry's not here."

"You cant trick me babe. I smell him. He's here."

"Whatever they did, they can work some voodoo on you because Harry's not here." he protested.

I turned around and saw Harry was gone. I heard a howl and ran after it. "Harry!" I called. Zayn held himself on my back as I dodged trees and fallen logs.

I saw the two wolves that distracted me before and skidded in the dirt until I stopped almost inches from them. I saw Harry out of my peripherals surrounded by three other wolves. The two the stood before me stepped to the side, revealing the large black wolf with one eye.

I urged Zayn to get down and he his behind a tree. "Get the human." The blond one stepped towards Zayn. "Don't!" I threatened. I tried to run towards him but I couldn't, being trapped by some force field. "Don't hurt him!" I yelled as I growled on the outside.

The blond wolf grabbed Zayn by his shirt collar and carried him out of my reach behind the alpha. "You love him?" The alpha asked.

I nodded my large head. "You hurt him and I will rip someone's fucking head off." I swore.

The alpha chuckled. "We don't need you or your human. We need him." The alpha stated, directing his attention towards Harry. "What are you gonna do to him?" I asked.

*Harry's POV*

"What are you going to do to him?" Penny asked. I was surrounded by three other wolves so I basically was trapped, not being able to speak for myself.

"We need him and his abilities." The alpha said. What did he mean by abilities? I was an average werewolf. Nothing special about me.

"What do you mean? My abilities?" I asked. The black wolf glared his one menacing eye at me.

"You are special."

"Can you be more fucking specific?!" I cursed. I wasn't in the mood to deal with myself. I wanted to be with Alison. I wanted to cuddle with her, knowing she's not afraid of me or what I am.

"Temper." he eased, "You have an ability that one else does. It's unique and is only seen every thousand years. It's very rare unlike the special abilities my pack possesses."

"What is it?" I asked.

"I need to test it. But you have to be willing." he tested.

"Leave my friends alone. Let them go." I offered.

"Harry. Think about this." Penny urged.

"I'm done thinking." I stated angrily, "Leave them alone. Let them go. I'll do it."

"Deal."

The blond wolf that held Zayn walked towards the house. One of the chestnut wolves pushed Penny back home, as if an invisible wall prevented her from getting near me. She called out to me, telling me not to go as she was pushed away.

"I have to do this."
