The girls tried to get Holly to speak, or even pry the letter she clutched from her grasp but all she could do was walk. They reached the doors when Hailey finally snapped: "Holly, you're freaking me out! What is going o-"

The door opened to reveal Madam Pomfrey and an older student pinning Skyla to a hospital bed. Amanda was being pulled back from her by a sixth year; both of them were screaming and babbling insanely. Hailey rushed ahead but the sixth year held a hand out to stop her. "Stay calm!" He shouted, "Don't go closer."

Holly moved in, slowely, carefully, as if in each step the ground could suddenly crumble beneath her and send them all tumbling down to Hell. She walked round to the bed - she was alowed because of her calmness - and looked down. "Skyla?" She whispered. The sleeve of her left arm was rolled down. Holly carefully peeled it back. Staring up at her was a skull, black, with a snake winding from its jaw into a figure of eight.

Holly stepped back, shaking her head and Hailey and Amanda stepped up to see. "It's fake. It has to be."She said in a sober tone of voice, totally expressionless. "It is." She looked at Madam Pomfrey. "It's a sick joke!"

Amanda gasps seeing the dark mark on Skyla's arm. "No this can't be! Skyla's a good person!" Tears start coming down her face not understanding this whole situation.

She looks around to see everyone just standing around. "Why aren't you helping her? She needs help!"

Holly just looks at Madame Pomfrey as if she was going to say this isn't real. Madame Pomfrey just shakes her head. "It's real. I don't know how to help. This magic far exceeds what I know."

"Can't you see Skyla's in pain?" Amanda asks. "Do something!"

Brin, Brooklyn, and Ella opened the door of the Hospital wirng and triped over each other as they tried to get thought the door, making them all fall on the floor.

" Brin!" called Hailey

" Ella!" called Holly

" Brooklyn?" called Skyla from her place on the bed. The girls who were standing hurried to help the girls on the floor.

" Why are you all dirty?" Asked Hailey

" Long storie! Wait Amanda, your here to? Why are you crying?" Replyed Brin

" Yeah Skyla my best friend. She, she has the dark mark."

" What?" Asked Brooklyn. Everyone aura in the room were blue and orange with worry anc confusion. Brin looked to Skyla. Her aura was brown and the part next to her arm was a horrible shade of black. Brin walked over to her and toched her arm, a wave of evil shocked her. Brin gasped in shock.

" How? Why! How would this happen, wait that not the dark mark." Brin said.

" What do you mean of course it is how many marks are there?" Asked Brooklynn. Hailey steped close to Brin and looked at Skyla's arm.

" She right , there words on the snake. Shade's Shadows."
