Chapter 39

As everyone entered the classroom, Hailey hanged back by the door. She waited for everyone to be seat before clearing her voice. As everyone turned to face her, she said “So I know everyone wants to know what the Seranird is…” Hailey stopped, thinking about what she had to do before starting again. “But I’m not going to tell you yet. I can’t have anyone overhearing this. It’s too dangerous. This is the one secret the Shades can’t know about. Not only that but there’s still one more thing I need for the Seranird. It’s still too early to release this information. I’m sorry” Hailey turned to leave the room.

“Wait, what do you need we’ll help.” Brin said forcing Hailey to stop.

“No, I’m going to get this myself.” Hailey turned, so she was partially facing the others. She smiled before saying “Besides it’s the easiest one, so don’t worry.” She then exited the room before anyone could say anything else and run down the hallway.

*some time later... Like 10 minutes*

Turning a corner, only to crashed into something and land on top of something fairly hard. Oh great what did I run into this time. “Ouch” said a voice that had dragonflies flying around in Hailey’s stomach and a warm feeling immerging from her chest. Oh spells, I crashed into someone. Maybe if I keep my eyes closed they disappear. Yea that’s it, if I can’t see them then they can’t see me. “Are you going to lie on top of me all day or get off?” Or not… Wait on top of him…

Hailey opened her eyes only to meet a pair of ice blue eyes. As she looked into them, she lost focus of everything around her. It was like nothing else matter but this one moment in time and somehow she knew he was feeling the same way. Not pulling away in the slightest, she smile and said “Hi”

He looked to her and smiled back. “Hi” He said back. Before either of them knew what was happening. They were drawn closer together by an unimagined force. Closing her eyes, she felt his petal soft lip against hers and lost herself to the feeling. It was like nothing she’d ever felt before. It was like the earth was shaking and rocking in celebration to the way she was feeling at this ever moment. He moved one of his hands around her waist and other hand to the nape of her neck as he deepened the kiss.

After a while, Hailey finally pulled away to smile down at him. “Hailey” A confused look crossed his face before he realized what she meant. “Alec, how come I’ve never seen you before now.” He said with a smile and a spark in his icily blue eyes. “Oh, I‘ve been around just hiding from you.” Hailey said with a smirk. Alec through his head back and laughs “Oh, I’m sure, that has to be it.”

A loud bang was heard right next to them. Looking over they noticed that everything in the hall was either broken or fallen from its place. “How did that happen and we didn’t notice it?” Alec said out loud. Hailey looked back to Alec. He’s the one. I… I’ve found him… That means… Alec turned to face Hailey and in turn she leaned down and kissed him. Smiling she got up off of him and said. “No clue but I’ve got to go.”

“Wait, where are you going?” Alec asked sitting up.

“I have to run but come and find me tomorrow.” Hailey said running outside.

Meanwhile back at the classroom.

Brin watched as Hailey left the room. She was getting a bit frustrated as everyone once again turned to her. "So, what now?" Kendra asked.

"Why is everyone looking at me? Brin asked.

"We just thought you'd know what to do." Skyla said simply.

"I'm not the leader. If anyone the leader Hailey is and she just left." Brin was getting a headache and she felt a hand on her shoulder. It was Riddly who, seemed quite calm.

"Your right Hailey not here right now." Riddly said calmly. Brin got the message she had to step forward.

"Fine, here’s what we’re going to do. Kole is going to explain everything. Go Kole."

"What?"

"You were with her all day yesterday. Explain yourself."

"We just went hunting for some weird plants."

"Plants?" asked Amanda.

"Yeah Plants. I have no clue what she going to do with all of them."

"Alright then, lets just all remember are assignments work on them get some sleep and -" Brin was caught off as Riddly pushed her to the ground, making them both slide across the floor.

The ground was shaking beneath them and the giant lights that hung from the ceiling came crashing down right where Brin had been standing. Everyone ducked underneath desk and Brin felt Riddly pulled her towards one.

"What’s going on?" Ella called from under a table where she and Holly hide.

"I don't know!" Called Amanda as her and Skyla ducked in time to avoid another falling giant light.

"Dracio!" Kendra cried as Kole moved towards him, but Kole was to late the third and final giant light fell on top of Dracio.

"NO!" Brooklynn cried and Josh held her back as the earth shook. Then as fast as it had started it stopped and everything was silent.

Brin instantly stood and Ran towards Dracios body. She looked him over trying to find his aura. "He can't be dead." Brin watched him and focused she saw that her mark was glowing and she saw a very light brown aura slowly pulsing from Dracio. "He alive! Barely but he his!"

"Kole rushed forward along with Josh and they lifted the light from Dracio body. The girls slowly stood from their hiding places and made a circle around Dracio's body. "What do we do?" Kendra asked.

"We take him to the hospital wring.” Holly said instantly. She moved towards Dracio body and Ella moved to help her. The two of them lifted him up with some effort and Brin found herself helping them support Dracio.

"Don't just stand there open the door, he needs help now!" Brin cried and Brooklynn ran for the door. They all moved into the hall and towards the hospital wring. Skyla quickly helped Ella lift Dracio on his right side and the others scouted ahead.

"Brin?"

Brin turned her head to Amanda who was walking in front of her.

"Yes?"

"What do you think caused that?"

"I don't know. Riddly?"

"Whatever it was, it was powerful. We can only hope that power is on are side." With that they had made it to the hospital wring and helped Dracio inside.
