Chapter 29

Brin turned to the girl named Kendra who aura was super yellow when she saw Holly but turned blue with worry when she saw Brin. Brin slapped her hand on her forehead. "I'm sorry if it was wrong for me to yell at Flitwick, I'm ussaly not like this. It been a long day and it is not close to ending. How do you know Holly?"

Kendra grinned at Holly, "Yeah, I sat with some sixths years, you know, they have tons of great tips!" Kendra smiled obvisly feeling more confertable. "Brin, Holly and I have been friends since last year." She smiled again, patting Holly on the shoulder.

Amethyst sighs, waiting for class to end. She mutters something as she pulls out a blue marker. She hums as she begins doodling on her arm.

Hailey turned to where he pointed. Sure enough there they were, the Magnent Mushrooms. Blinking, Hailey looked at them. In the shade of an oak tree, they looked to be a royal blue color with bright blue violet spots running around the tops of the mushrooms. Moving into the clearing, Hailey and Kole took a closer look at them without touching them.

“Yea that’s them” Hailey said as she started to move in a circle around them. She stops on the other side of them and looked to Kole. “Now we just have to pick them but be care-”

“Awesome, this is going to be easy.” Kole said cutting Hailey off and moving closer to the mushrooms.

“KOLE STOP..” Hailey yelled as she watches Kole reach to pick them. Then out of nowhere a brown blur flew down and attached Kole’s hand just as he was about to touch the mushrooms.

"Ahh!" Kole swung his upper limbs in the air, "Anything but the face." Cowering behind his arms, he could hear Hailey giggle at his ridiculous banter.

"Hey I cannot have this," Kole unclasped his arms, and circled his hand over his facade, "Being scratched up." He gave her a cheeky grin.

"Oh definitely," hailey put her palms out, "We don't want Kole's precious looks being tarnished, now do we." She teased sarcastically.

"Whatever," Kole rolled his eyes at the girls comeback, "What was that anyway?" He glanced about at the tree tops, checking to see if he could spot the dastard animal.

"Well it could definitely fly." Hailey moved her hands in a flapping motion.

Kole raised a brow at her, "Never would have guessed."

Hesitating for a second, Kole bent down and tried, for a second time, to pick up the mushroom. But as soon as his fingers were inches away from it the beast swooped in and attacked Kole's hand.

"Ahrg," Kole flailed, slapping futilely at the air. "Okay then, if that's how you wanna play." Kole briskly whipped out his wand, and tried to aim it at the flying brown mass, "Verdilious!" Kole casted the charm, and green sparks and smoke flew out of the wand.

"There we go," Kole tucked the wand back into its hold. "That should distract it long enough, just for me to... Pick up this mushro-"

"Whack!" The second Kole grazed the mushroom cap, the creature swooped down and knocked Kole right on his back, dazed from the tackle Kole elevated his head, to see a cute brown, white speckled owl, peering into his eyes; almost mocking him.

"You little..." Before he could curse at the poor bird, mushrooms began springing from the dirt, multiplying, and rapidly, one, two, three.. Twenty. "Uhm... Hailey?"

Hailey shrugged, "Hey I warned you."

"So that's what you were trying to do, save me... Well sort of." Kole spoke to the owl that was perched on his chest.

"I think I'll name you, Rex." Kole lifted the owl off of him and propped himself up.

"Look, I got an owl." Kole happily grinned and shoved the bird into haileys face.
