Chapter 16

Skyla looked at them confused and relieved. "So its not the dark mark..." starts yelling. "SO WHAT IS IT?!?!?!?!"

"Stay calm, it's not the Dark Mark; it could be worse," Brin says in a sympathetic voice.

"THEN WHAT?!?!?!? HOW DO I STAY CALM WHEN THERE'S A SKILL EMBEDDED IN MY ARM!?!?!?" She started hyperventilating.

Holly stepped up, slightly joyful that it wasn't a trace of history repeating itself but still concerned. She grabbed Skyla's arm, ignoring her panic knowing that Brin and the others can help her. Hailey was right, the skull looked like it is on the Dark Mark but the snake was lighter and had 'Shade's Shadows' written in tiny black capitols across it. It didn't move either but just sat there like a tattoo. The expression on Skyla's face seemed to say it wasn't that innocent and was hurting her.

She rolled down Skyla's sleeve. "Ok... This is good news for you, Skyla, but Hailey... Brace yourself."

They both looked uneasy. "It's definitely not the Dark Mark, or as permanent, but I'm afraid you're stuck with it for a while yet." Holly placed her hand over Skyla's mouth who looked like she could strangle Holly. She continued: "This is a rare curse designed shortly after the Dark Lord's demise purposefully to warn wizards from danger that they were being targeted by Death Eaters. It was later used against enemies who would then find themselves in Askaban if the mark was realistic enough."

"What has this got to do with Skyla?" Dawn asked. "So far, this only explains what it is, not why it's there. Plus, it’s clearly aimed at Hailey somehow."

"Skyla must’ve been knocked out for someone to put it on. Considering the words on it, one of my theorys is that a student has found out who Hailey is, decided to play a prank but didn't know what she looked like and cursed the wrong girl... But this type of curse is powerful, more so than any pupil could cast. That leaves only one possibility..."

Everyone stood silent. Skyla was quiet but confused as Holly forgot to explain who the Shade's Shadows are to everyone. Hailey looked like she was going to faint and the wind outside was swirling and pounding, 'just as her mind must be' Holly thought. Hailey let out a quiet whisper, voicing Holly’s thoughts.

"It's the Shade's Shadows themselves. They're in the castle."

Brin and Ella gasped, not filling Skyla with confidence. Holly nodded. "I'm sorry. I don't know anymore but you might not be safe."

Hailey collapsed, hitting the ground with a thud.

Skyla still looked slightly confused. "Wait, are the Shade's Shadows parselmouths?"

"Hailey!" Brin called as she feel to the ground. The wind outside suddenly stoped. Her aura was now a clam yellow instead of blue with fear. Madame P. ran over and lifted Hailey up off the the floor, with the help of Ella.

" She'll be ok, she just fainted from fear." Madame P. told the girls. Brin looked around the room, everyone aura were filled with fear, concern, and confusion. Brooklynn and Amanda had no clue what was going on and the orange almost over powerd the blue in thier aura's. Skyla aura was such a mess that Brin couldn't even look at it, but it wasn't Skyla aura that made her not see Hailey stress signs. It was Holly Bright orange aura that sucked Brin in, she had tottal confidence in herself as she tryed to help Skyla. She actually was suppressing her worry, which to Brin was amazing. Brin was brought out of her thoughts by Holly's voice.

" I don't know, but I know someone who dose." Hooly turned around and looked at Brooklynn. "Brooklynn you need to go find the Professor Daciano and the headmisstris now. I know that you and Amanda have no clue what's going on, but it important to get them as fast as they can. Find Professor Daciano and tell him what happened, he'll lead you to the Headmistriss office. Now please go." Brooklynn didn't need to be told twice, she ran out of the room and though the heavy doors as fast as she could, determination spread across her face.

" Wait! Skyla my best friend! What gives you the right to take charge? Huh, I don't even know you, I only know Brin!" Amanda shouted tears streaming down her face as she moved protectivly infront of Skyla's bed. Her aura was a mix of worry, confusion, and anger. Brin got up off the floor and stood infront of her, putting her hands on Amanda's shoulders.

" I know this is hard, for you seeing your friend in pain. There something, you don't know about me, I'm a phsyic, I see peoples Aura; thier emotions. I know your upset but you need to calm down. We just know more about this, then you do and if you want to help Skyla you need to calm down and help me. You have to go find Frienze and Proffesor Trelawney. I need you to go find Ridley. You rember her right, she the girl that walked with you to Defence.

Amanda eyes were huge as they looked at Brin, behind her glasses. She had stoped crying and was now really determind. She nodded her head. " Ok you need to find her, she should be at lunch, she a seer a person who can see the future, I think she can help us. I'll explain when you get back, now hurry please."

Brin let go off Amanda's shoulders. Amanda looked at Skyla then ran out the doors of the Hospital Wring. Brin moved over to Skyla side and took her hand in hers. " If it hurts, squeez my hand and give me the pain." Skyla shook her head." It ok it will help." Skyla then squeezed Brin's hand as hard as she could.
