From the Shadows || Katsuki Bakugou x OC

Chapter Forty-one

Twice whipped at us, Katsuki dodging as Himiko made a move to cut him, but I could tell her moves were sloppy, always missing by a few inches. Throughout the fight I noticed her and Touya's sad eyes, I think they're trying to avoid hurting us without looking like they aren't trying.

Katsuki caused an explosion between us and Himiko, and Mr. Compress attempted to sneak up behind us. I used a shadow to create a wall between us and one to make Katsuki fly about six feet in the air to avoid anyone else.

Once we were back on the ground All Might Attempted to reach us, but yet again was pulled back by All For One. A lizard-looking man threw swords toward us, I jumped out of Katsuki's shadow and made a shadow dome as large as necessary, so that only Katsuki and I could be in it, only about six feet wide.

"Shit!" I yelped, a blade had sliced the backside of my left ankle, I can't tell how deep but it hurts like hell.

"Are you okay?" Katsuki grabbed me, "Are we safe in here?"

"We should be fine for a minute or two, but before they can break through we need to regroup slightly." He pointed to his ears so I repeated myself a bit louder.

"What do you mean? We were doing decent enough at not dying."

I winced in pain from the cut in my ankle, but continued, "The man with the vue fire and the girl with the knife, don't worry about them so much, focus on the other four."

He looked at over a dozen blades trying to break through the dome. "What the hell do you mean by that? They're some of the more powerful ones here!"

"Just trust me okay, they're not going to legitimately hurt us, not purposefully anyway."

The dome started to weaken, the swords are starting to come through, "I don't know what sort of shit you've been smoking, but fine. And as soon as we get outta here you need to get to a hospital."

"I know." I receded back into his shadows, bringing down the dome and continuing our fight. Someone attacked, Katsuki dodged, and I would create shadow obstacles. He ignored Touya and Himiko as I told him to, but I can't keep this up for long. I'm way too exhausted, I think that device to stop my quirk has some sort of lingering effect. It took nearly all my mental strength to keep the dome up. I would use my ice but with me staying in his shadows I run the risk of freezing him.

I can tell Katsuki is tired too, his movements are slowing down slightly. While midair I jumped out and was finally able to use my ice, I created several black ice walls to help us. They're sloppy as hell but it will help a bit. I latched back onto him.

"I regret-" He dodged a whip from Twice, "I regret staying here, we should've left."

I stuck myself out of his back and froze Twice's whip to the ground. Touya was trying to melt as much ice as possible, but couldn't do much. "Why's that?" I asked, out of breath, before retreating again.

"All Might can't use the full extent of his power, he can't attack these bastards because of me." More dodging, more prevent injuries, "At this point it's too late to just leave, we're both too tired to get far, and because of how I dodge you get get close enough to the ground to travel."

We kept trying to avoid the villains attacks, "And I'd get way to sick." He was tearing up slightly, "We've doomed All Might and ourselves." I want to hug him so badly right now, but if I do our attention is taken off of the villains. I start crying to, few and silent tears, even if I was sobbing he wouldn't be able to hear me inside of shadows. I reached my hand out and gently squeezed his shoulder to reassure him before creating another shadow wall between us and villains.

"Thanks." He whispered.

I jumped out to slam down a wall, hopefully sending some of them backwards. I noticed a blade flying towards Katsuki, I used more shadows to propel myself in front of him, using a shadow shield of sorts to deflect it. "Keiko wait!" Katsuki reached his hand out and grabbed the back of my shirt, pulling me towards him. I must have miscalculated because the blade struck me right below my previous cut. If I had stayed it would've went through the thinnest part of my shield and possibly my hip.

"Don't be so damn reckless!" Katsuki shouted as I yet again went into his shadows.

A wall nearby broke down, everyone looked to see what was causing such a ruckus.

"Is that-" Katsuki was cut off by an enormous slab of ice rising to the sky, nearly as tall as the buildings. Did Izuku and Shoto come up with this? I think I see Tenya and Kiri too!

Due to the distraction, we ended up landing on the ground, with the villains seeming dumbfounded as presumably Tenya, Kiri, and Izuku flew through the air.

Kiri reached out, shouting at the top of his lungs, "Come on!" Katsuki's eyes widened. Oh shit oh shit oh shit I gotta hold on I cannot come out of the shadows now.

Shigaraki reached for us and Katsuki yelled, setting of explosions at a million a minute, we went flying into the air, chasing after them. Due to the brightness of the explosions I nearly fell out of the shadows, but I was able to grab onto Katsuki's back piggyback style and held on for dear life.

He finally caught up, even with having to carry me now, and grabbed onto Kiri's hand, "You idiots!" He smiled.

"They're not the idiots, you are! I almost fell out of the sky you asshat!" I'm sure my face looks absolutely terrified right now. I looked down to the ground, and realizing how far up we are my buried my face into Katsuki's shirt. "I don't like being up here!"

"Don't, worry, we'll be landing soon!"
