Keiko Todomura has been staying out of the way of the school bully since childhood, silently protecting her best friend, Izuku, with her quirk. Her childhood has been fairly normal, until her mom runs away to France. It's not too long before others...
"We're home!" Keiko called from downstairs. I lept up from my bed and set down the book Fuyumi let me borrow.
I raced down the stairs to greet them. "Keiko!" I hugged them, "I finally get to have a dinner with our family!"
"Yeah... I guess that's true. I never thought of that." She smiled.
"Hang on." I looked at Keiko's forehead, "When did you get bangs?!?"
"Like, last weekend. I just felt like doing something different." They laughed. "Oh, I almost forgot. We got something for you before we came here, that's why we were a bit late."
"Oh?"
"Yeah! We thought it would be a good welcome home gift." Ochako said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. Oh my god I forgot how cute she was.
"Here, it's in my bag." Shoto said. He unzipped a large duffle bag and pulled out a purple guitar with black and white accents.
"You guys got me a guitar? That must have been so expensive!"
"Well, we all chipped in at least a little bit." Izuku said, "But Shoto still happen to have access to some of Endeavors money so he paid for most of it. Plus it's second hand."
"Besides, you told us about wanting to take guitar lessons so we thought it would be nice for you to have your own." Ochako added.
"Thank you guys so much!" I exclaimed, pulling them into a big hug. "I really appreciate it."
"Hang on, there's also a guitar stand in here." Shoto grabbed it and handed it to me. "Here you go."
"Thanks! I'm gonna go put these in my room!"
"Here, let me help," Keiko said, taking the stand, "Plus now you'll have a hand to open the door. Shoto, could you take Ochako and Izuku to the living room?"
"Sure thing." He said, gesturing for them to follow him.
We got up to our room and placed the stand and guitar in the corner of the room, I looked proudly at it. I can't wait to learn how to actually play.
"There is one more part of that I forgot to mention." Keiko said, "I just have to find it."
I sat on my bed, "Take your time, there's no rush."
He found it pretty quickly and handed it to me. "Voila! A guitar case! It'll be a lot easier to take it to school in this."
"Keiko."
"Yes?"
"What the hell did I do to deserve siblings and friends like you guys?"
"Oh, don't talk like that." She set the case down next to the guitar. "You've done plenty. Like taking care of ragdoll, making sure not to seriously harm anyone at the camp, and making amends with Izuku, Ochako, and the rest of the class."
"I suppose you're right. Thanks Keiko."
"Of course." They smiled at me, then tucked their hair behind his ear.
"Is that an industrial piercing?"
"Oh, yeah I got it with Denki last month."
I stood up to get a better look at it. It has a small moon decoration in the center, "It's really pretty. But aren't you afraid it'll get caught on something while in battle?"
"Nah, I replace it with two small studs before we go to do anything." They said. "Plus, I've been putting my hair in a bun for hero things."
"Man, you've change your look a lot since I last saw you."
"Hey kids! Dinners ready!" Our dad called from the kitchen.
"Guess we should head down. I wonder what he's made."
"Whatever it is it's delicious. Wanna race downstairs?" Keiko asked.
"Might as well." I giggled.
"Well, see you down there, loser." She disappeared into the shadows.
"You cheater!"
A.N.- I drew Keiko with bangs and an industrial piercing hehehe. Also a chibi version of them with a head band pushing their bangs back. And I modified her hero costume just a tad.
