Tenya, Tsu, and I sat in the waiting room, anxious to talk to Principal Nezu. Tenya set up a bank account on Sunday like he said he would, and also created a PayPal to make it easier to donate. Katsuki talked to Mr. and Mrs. Kirishima. They were reluctant to accept any financial help, but they gave him permission to create a public fundraiser if necessary. The total they need will wound up being about $160,000 without their insurance, but about $80,000 with it. It's still a lot of money for them. For anyone really. We have just under a month to get the money. This needs to succeed.

What we have saved up right now... it's barely a drop in the bucket. It's basically a molecule in the bucket.

"Hello students," Principal Nezu greeted us while poking out of his office, "I apologize for making you wait so long, but you may come in now." We followed him in and sat in seats across from his desk. "So, what is it that you wanted to talk to me about."

We went over what all we would say what seemed like a million times. We can't mess this up. We need the money for Kiri.

"As you may know," I spoke, clearing my throat, "There was an attack on me and a few other students just a few days ago."

"Yes, I am aware."

"During that fight, all seven of us were injured, but Eijirou Kirishima got the worst of it." He nodded to show he was following along. "He is currently in a coma with bruised ribs, a skull fracture, and thyroid cancer."

Principal Nezu's face dropped, "I had no idea it was that bad."

It's Tenya's time to speak, "It is. And the worst part is that his parents can't afford his surgeries and hospital bills. I have already set up a bank account to collect money to raise to help him." Tenya adjusted his glasses, "Class 3A has collected some of our personal money and put it towards this cause already. We currently have $753 in that account. But that isn't even one percent what what they need."

"This is indeed... quite worrisome." Principal Nezu seemed to almost say this to himself. Tenya continued to briefly explains the financial set up.

Now it's Tsu's turn. "They need about $80,000 for everything. And that's after insurance. The reason we came to you today is to ask for your help. Eijirou is predicted to have just under a month to live unless he gets those surgeries." Tsu blinked back tears, "We know that our school has a massive yearly budget. So what we ask of you. What we beg of you, is to relocate some of that money to saving our friend."

Principal Nezu sat shocked. It was almost a whole minute before he finally spoke. "This is a very bold thing to ask. I applaud you for your willingness to be heroes even when you're not on the battlefield. But unfortunately, I cannot just give you any of the schools funding."

My eyes widened, is this him saying no?

"You see, I would need to write up a document for how much I would be taking, and what for. After that I would need to call a meeting for the school's counsel to discuss this matter. Just finding an acceptable date could take a while! And even then, it's likely they would vote no."

"But Principal Nezu, he'll die! Without that money-"

He cut me off. "Now, I know I implied that I will not be giving any of the school's funding to you, which would be correct. I can't get your hopes up just to be rejected right before they desperately need the money."

Tenya, Tsu, and I exchanged glances, wondering where he was going with this.

"However, I am willing to donate some of my personal money to your cause." I immediately felt some relief upon hearing this, "Even though I am the principal of a famous school, I am not nearly as rich as you would expect. But, I make enough to be able to give you $3,000 to help start you off."

We looked happily between each other.

"In fact, I think I can make our teachers play a short video of one of you talking about what happened and how to help him out. It may take a few more days, but I think I could get at the very least a local news station to also play it."

I started sobbing immediately, "Thank you... so much."  Tenya and Tsu hugged me tight, crying into my shoulders.

For the next half hour we discussed the making of this video, and decided I should speak in it. We put together a short script, and recorded it. Principal Nezu told us he would edit it and send it out the next day.

Now all we have to do is tell our class the news.
