You saw that Sasuke had fed Naruto some food to get his strength back, you gave a look to Kakashi that said 'I told you so'. Referring to the time when you said Sasuke and Naruto were made for each other. You remembered that you would have to tell the students they had passed the assignment because they disobeyed the rules and helped their comrade. You and Kakashi hid behind two trees and leant against them waiting for the right moment to appear. Right after the piece of food had entered Naruto's mouth, you and Kakashi made your grand entrances.

"You!" Kakashi yelled trying to frighten the Genin. That seemed to work since they all screamed in panic (More like Naruto and Sakura screamed while Sasuke grunted angrily). "You broke the rules, I hope you're ready for the punishment," He threatened. Kakashi did a few hand signs that caused storm clouds to appear. It was safe to say that you were extremely amused by the looks on their faces.

"Any last words," you added, making them look even more horrified. Sasuke looked about ready to kill both you and Kakashi, while Naruto and Sakura looked as if they were going to faint. If Sakura would faint again she would probably break a world record for: most times to have fainted in a day.

"B-but y-you said," Naruto stammered, presumably because the ground was shaking beneath him.

"Yes," Kakashi urged him to carry on.

"You said that there were three of us and that's why Sakura and," Naruto said, his voice trailing off when he looked at the onyx haired boy beside him.

"We're all on the same squad and we're all in it together," Sasuke continued for Naruto.

"Yeah, that's right! we gave our lunch to him because the three of us are one!" Sakura joined in, having snapped out of her frightened state.

"Yeah yeah yeah yeah! Believe it! That's right!," Naruto announced. You thought that there were too many 'yeahs' in that sentence but, oh well.

"The three of you are one, that's your excuse?," Kakashi asked menacingly, getting closer to the students for dramatic effect. "hmm, you pass," he told them calmly with a closed eye smile. Now the looks on their faces were even more priceless than before.

"You. Pass," you repeated to them giving them your own smile.

"What do you mean? How did we pass?" Sakura inquired, looking as puzzled as ever. The dark clouds above cleared, letting the sunlight shine through.

"You are the first squad that ever succeeded. All of the other squads did exactly as I and Y/N said, they fell into every trap," Kakashi started moving away from the Genin.

"They couldn't think for themselves, A ninja must see through deception," you continued.

"In the ninja world those who break the rules are scum, that's true, but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum," Kakashi finished, teaching them about the saying his dad told him many years ago. Sakura gave a sigh of relief, Naruto had tears in his eyes, and Sasuke gave a grunt of happiness.

"He's uh, he's you know, he's kinda cool," Naruto claimed, talking about Kakashi.

"I know right," you agreed.

"The exam is over, everyone passes. Squad seven starts its first mission tomorrow," Kakashi confirmed, giving a dramatic thumbs up.

"I did it, I did it, I did it. I'm a ninja believe it!" Naruto shouted with pride.

"Let's go home," Kakashi suggested to everyone. Sasuke and Sakura walked over to him, while Naruto struggled since he was tied to a post. You walked to him so you could help him.

"You finally did it Naruto, you're a ninja now. I'm so proud," you praised. Once you finished untying the ropes, Naruto smothered you in a hug. You hugged him back. "Now go get some rest, you've earned it," you told him.

"Thanks, I will!" he called out, running in the direction of the rest of the team. You giggled slightly and followed.

Once you reached the village, all of the Genin went to their homes all worn out. You and Kakashi decided to spend some time in the town seeing that neither of you really did much.

"So we finally have a team huh," you spoke, getting Kakashi's attention.

"Yeah, they're an interesting bunch those three," he replied.

"They kind of remind me of our team when we were younger," you responded.

"Yeah they do," Kakashi answered a sad chuckle escaping his lips. The two of you had gotten over their deaths but that doesn't mean that it wasn't still painful to think about.

"What do you think about Naruto?" you questioned, trying to change the mood.

"He's determined, that's all I can really say," Kakashi acknowledged, you nodded in understanding. Having known the spunky boy for most of his life, it's safe to say that you have gotten your fair share of his grand speeches about becoming Hokage. While the two of you were walking around town, you stumbled upon the park that you and Kakashi frequented as children.

"Hey Kakashi," you nudged him pointing over to the direction of the park.

"I'm surprised that place is still there," he spoke referring to the park that you were now making your way towards. It was empty and it looked almost identical despite being there for years on end.

"Come on, let's go," you dragged Kakashi over to the swings. A massive smile made itself apparent on your features. You sat down and gestured for him to do the same.

"This sure does bring back memories," Kakashi confessed.

"Yeah it really does," you agreed. The two of you just sat in a comfortable silence enjoying the rhythm of the swings going back and forth.

"Hey Y/N," Kakashi said breaking the silence. You gave a slight nod and hum in response. "How has the village been treating you recently? I mean we haven't been able to talk like this for a while so I'd thought I'd ask," he inquired.

"Nothing much has changed to be fair. They're still as annoyingly blind and ignorant as ever. Except now the worst of it isn't happening to me, it's all being directed to Naruto. Every time I left the village for a mission I could only hope that Naruto was safe. Luckily, I don't think any of the kids in the academy bullied him physically but words always hurt more than actions for that boy. I was shunned because of family circumstances which allowed some to sympathise with me, however, no one in the village understands what it's like to have a demon sealed inside of you so Naruto always had to bear that burden alone. The fact that he didn't even know about the nine tails made life worse for him as he thought the village hated him for no apparent reason. I remember coming back from a mission that took a month to complete and seeing Naruto, his eyes were so dull and lifeless as others talked about him but the moment he saw me the light in them returned. He ran to me and tackled me with a massive hug, crying tears of joy. So many people in the village saw this as it happened and yet everyone still treated him as a monster. If only they could open their eyes for once in their sad and meaningless lives, they could see what an amazing boy Naruto really is," you shook your head. "Sorry, I began rambling,"

Kakashi looked at you in sympathy, knowing how much you cared about Naruto.

"Well at least he now has a team that will know him for who he is, and well he also has you," Kakashi reassured. You responded with a nod and a slight smile in his direction.
