Chapter 8 Re.

Note: Despite this being a rewritten chapter, the fight scene is still gonna be pretty bad.

Previously: "Look out!" Kakashi warned.

A massive sword came flying in the direction of Tazuna and team seven. The warning that Kakashi gave just seconds earlier saved everyone's lives; including your own. After the blade had passed over your head, it cut into a tree that was at least a metre behind you. Then, the ninja who had thrown the sword stood on its hilt (The sword was still embedded in the tree). When the enemy ninja turned to face your team, they made eye contact with Kakashi. You had also gotten to see their features: They had relatively short hair that was styled upwards, and their ninja headband was on in a way that the symbol on top could only be seen from the side. The ninja wasn't wearing a shirt and had bandages covering his nose and mouth. Once you had taken a glimpse at the sword, you had confirmed your suspicions and realised that this was Zabuza Momochi; one of the seven swordsmen of the mist. You stood up properly and crossed your arms, you had then looked behind you to see if Naruto was okay (which thankfully he was). Next, you turned to face Zabuza with a stern glare. He spared you a glance and then focused his attention back to Kakashi, who was standing with his hands in his pockets and was slightly leaning back.

"Well well, if it isn't Zabuza Momochi. Rogue ninja from the village hidden in the mist," Kakashi said nonchalantly. Naruto had gotten prepared to attack and was heading in the direction of Zabuza. You extended your arm in front of him to prevent him from going any further.

"You're in the way, get back," You told Naruto strictly. No matter how much determination this boy had, he was still no match for a Jonin; a rouge ninja no less.

"But why?" Naruto asked, vexed.

"He's not like those other ninja, he's in a whole other league. If he's our opponent I'll need this. This could be treacherous" Kakashi reached over to his headband, and kept his hand clasped at the bottom of it; ready to reveal what was underneath at any moment.

"Kakashi of the Sharingan eye, did I get that right?" Zabuza asked, looking down at Kakashi. Sasuke was astounded to hear that Kakashi had the Sharingan and you understood why. Only the Uchihas were supposed to have this type of optical jutsu, but Obito gifted it to Kakashi before he died. "And Y/N, master of explosions" He looked at you and you gave him a deadly glare. "It's too bad huh, but you'll have to hand over the old man," Zabuza ordered.

"Now quick Manji formation, protect the bridge builder, and stay out of this fight," Kakashi commanded the Genin.

"We taught you teamwork, now it's time to use it," you told them. Kakashi had then lifted his headband and revealed his scarred Sharingan eye.

"I'm ready," Kakashi confirmed. You nodded and got into a fighting stance.

"Well, looks like I get to see the Sharingan in action. This is an honour," Zabuza mocked.

"Everyone keeps saying Sharingan this, Sharingan that. Can someone please tell me what Sharingan is?" Naruto was perplexed.

"Sharingan, a rare power, it resides in the eyes. The user of this visual jutsu or dojutsu, can instantly see and comprehend any genjutsu, taijutsu and ninjutsu and reflect the attack back on the attacker. The Sharingan is a special rare form of dojutsu. However, there's more to the Sharingan than that, a lot more," Sasuke explained.

"You got it right boy, but you only scratched the surface. The Sharingan can analyse an opponents technique and then copy it to the smallest detail," Zabuza added. Thick smoke started surrounding the area, you figured this was the cause of a jutsu that Zabuza had performed. "As for you Jonin, in the assassination unit of the hidden mist, we had a standing order to destroy both of you on sight. Your profile is in our bingo book it called you, the man who copied a thousand Justu, Kakashi the copy ninja," He revealed talking bout Kakashi. "You were also in our bingo book and they referred to you as the kunoichi who's capable of making someone explode with a single punch, Y/N the ninja of destruction," He said now talking about you. You rolled your eyes and scoffed.

"Well I'm flattered that you consider me famous, but could you have not come up with a better name than 'ninja of destruction' I mean really," You pestered Zabuza and this got him angry. He glared at you, however, this didn't phase you one bit.

"Wow, that's so cool!" Naruto exclaimed, referring to the fact that you and Kakashi were strong and famous ninja.

"Enough talking, I need to exterminate the old man now," Zabuza said.

This caused Tazuna to gain a terrified expression on his face. The Genin quickly ran to your client and got into a formation that would protect Tazuna.

"So, I'll have to eliminate the two of you first, eh Kakashi and Y/N, so be it," Zabuza told you. In an instant, he had gotten his sword out of the tree and stood on the water (using his chakra to keep him from falling in).

"He's over there!" Naruto began, looking in Zabuza's direction.

"Standing on the water!" Sakura finished the sentence that Naruto began. 

Zabuza put both of his hands into the monkey hand sign and held one of his arms up as he was doing so. He was building up his chakra, for reasons you had yet to discover. Then, he disappeared into the fog. Now, you had figured out the jutsu he was building up his chakra for; it was the 'Hidden mist jutsu'.

"He vanished," Naruto said, holding his kunai near his chest. You and Kakashi both walked forward.

"Sensei," Sakura said in a worried tone.

"He'll come after me first, getting within Y/N's range isn't a risk he can afford to take. You aren't his targets," Kakashi comforted the girl.

"But who is he?" She asked.

"Zabuza Momochi, the ex-leader of the hidden mist assassination unit. He's a master of the silent killing technique," You answered.

"S-silent?" Naruto wasn't quite understanding what it meant.

"As the name suggests, it happens in an instant without sound or warning of any kind." Kakashi elaborated.

"It's so fast you pass from this life without even realising what happened. The Sharingan cannot fully neutralise it, so don't lower your guard," you warned the team.

"Well if we fail we only lose our lives," Kakashi finished. He said that in a way that made it seem as if losing your life wasn't a big deal and that caused you to smirk slightly.

"How can you say that, and Y/N-sensei why would you laugh at that," Sakura scolded.

You put your arms up and lowered your head slightly, as if you were surrendering to her. Kakashi lightly chuckled at this. Even in times where your lives were on the line, you both still managed to make each other smile. This showed how close the two of you were.

"The mist is getting thicker and thicker," Naruto said. You took this as a sign that Zabuza was getting ready for an attack, and so you regained your focus.

"The land of waves is surrounded by ocean, the swirling mists are ever-present," Tazuna informed.

"Eight points, larynx, spine, lungs, liver, jugular, subclavian artery, kidneys, heart. Now, which will be my kill point?" Zabuza named.

I changed Y/N's abilities completely and decided that she should have the explosion style kekkei genkai. Her fighting style is similar to Gari's as she uses taijutsu and a collision with anything would cause an explosion. e.g if she lands a punch that person will be caught in an explosion.
