Dear Diary,
Today is daddy’s birthday and I am missing him a lot. James was by my side when I woke up. He sure kept his word. He told me he wanted to take me somewhere. One of the women working in the building came over with a new dress for me to wear. After I got dressed James took me outside and helped me into the little hut on the back of his horse. He asked if I was settled and I said yes but I asked him where we were going. He told me he was taking me somewhere special. Just sit back and relax. He went to his horse and we started to walk. It was soothing with the breeze of the fresh air. He told me not to say anything because he didn’t want to risk me getting caught and we both get arrested and taken back to the Amison’s. It was about an hour ride but we finally made it to our destination. I must have fallen asleep because next thing I remember James was picking me up out of the carriage. It was a small cottage in the woods and a husband and a wife walked out of the house and I knew it had to be James and Nathan’s parents. James must have told them he was bringing me because they walked up to me like I was family already to them. They looked happy that they saw me. James told me it was okay and we walked inside, it looked so comfortable unlike something I had ever had. Their parents introduced themselves. Their mother’s name is Mrs. Rebecca and their father’s name Mr. Brady. They were so sweet and caring like they wanted me there with all of them, like I belonged there. Finally for a long time I do believe I belong somewhere. Now it’s time for dinner so I’m going to go. I will write back soon.
