Dear Diary,

James introduced us, her name was Emily. She seemed though, like she already knew me, like James told her I was coming. She asked if we could go outside after we talked for a few minutes so we did. She seemed so happy that I was there and I couldn’t understand why that was. I asked her about how long she knew James and she said they grew up together as best friends. I always wanted to know other people out of the ‘family’ and the slave auctions I have went too. Now I don’t have to wish anymore. It’s like I have another family who wants me here, it actually feels like a family know. I asked her about Nathan, she had so many things to tell me. Truth I didn’t mind hearing all these stories about him it made me feel like I knew him before the only physical memory I had of him was war. That was not the memory I want to remember him by. After a few minutes we heard Mrs. Rebecca scream but she was also crying. We went running inside and she was holding a letter. I assumed it was from Nathan by the way she reacted, and it was.  They all said it had been months since they have heard from Nathan. I was actually kind of excited to get a letter from Nathan, that way we knew he was okay and safe. Nathan basically said how much he still believed in what he was doing, and I was shocked because he talked about me in the letter. I could tell Mrs. Rebecca knew something, her eyes lit up like something amazing happened. I think when Nathan mentioned me that truly made me apart of their family.

                                                                                                                    Your Friend Always,

                                                                                                                                           Anna
