Dear Diary,

After supper last night Mrs. Rebecca showed me around their cottage. I loved feeling like I am a part of a family again but it makes me miss my family even more. I think Mrs. Rebecca could tell something was wrong, I guess a mothers instinct. Mama always said that’s how she would know something was wrong with Darryl or me. She asked me what was wrong but I think she already knew. She mentioned mama and daddy and I started to cry. I felt so embarrassed though because I have never cried in front of anyone my whole life, especially not someone I just met a day ago. Mrs. Rebecca was really nice and soothing when I was with her and after a few minutes I stopped crying. Then she asked me about Nathan, if he seemed happy when I saw him. That brought me back to the day I first saw him. I told her he did seem happy and he was glad of what he was doing. That seemed to make her happy and I understood why. Now I can only imagine how mama and daddy feel especially Darryl. They must think I left because they think I don’t love them anymore but in truth I do love them and I always have and always will. We didn’t talk for a week or so before I left and they must think it’s their fault. Mrs. Rebecca said that they have one room left and I knew immediately what room that was, Nathan’s room. She made me happy when we went in there like I knew more about him from what I did than when I first saw him riding through Mr. and Mrs. Amison’s property. Someone was at the door and Mrs. Rebecca went to see who it was and let me look through Nathans things. I loved the feeling of me being able to be there with him even though I knew it was impossible to happen right now. Just then I heard James’ voice by Nathans door and he walked in and asked me if I would like to meet his fiancé and I was happy that this family was so nice and caring to someone they didn’t even know. He led me out to the family room and there was a beautiful young lady standing right next to the door with Mrs. Rebecca.
