A Well Deserved Vacation.... Ruined (Pt.1)

"Come on Donnie. You don't need to bring your entire lab with you. It's supposed to be a vacation," you groaned as you wandered past the geniuses lab only to see him packing many bags.

"It's not my whole lab. It's only pieces." He tried to justify his six suitcases and you crossed your arms and shook your head.

"It's a vacation Don-Don. We're supposed to be relaxing, not working." You wrapped an arm around his shoulders and gently shook him. "You just saved the world, man. You deserve a break. No work, no worries, just time to destress and relax."

"I guess you're right," he admitted. You laughed.

"Course I'm right. Now, unpack this bag and repack it with only the necessities. It's okay to bring some first aid stuff since you are the family doctor; but bring stuff that you can use to have fun and relax. Crosswords, books, games. Whatever helps you relax and have fun." You shot him a smile.

"That's-... that's a good idea. I haven't really ever had time to destress or have some fun. Thanks Y/n," he shot you a smile and you nodded.

"You guys have never had a vacation, have you?" You asked softly. He looked down.

"We've always been too busy with keeping the city safe. That and we can't go on normal vacations like humans can." He replied. You gave him a side hug and smiled.

"Well, this is a time to have fun. Pack up, bus is rolling in 20," you shot him a wink before exiting the lab and wandering down the hall to Mikeys room.

"You ready?" You knocked on his door and he turned and grinned.

"Oh yeah! I got games, snacks, and even floaty beds for the lake!" He said excitedly making you laugh.

"See? You got the idea! This is all about fun!" You shot him finger guns before leaving him alone and going to Raph's room.

"What's up big red?" You entered his room without knocking to see him scowl.

"Wha'dya want?"

"Are you ready?" You asked. He huffed.

"No."

"Why not?"

"I don't know what to pack. I've never been on a vacation before," he said uncomfortably. You smiled.

"Like I told Donnie. This is for fun. No work, all play. Bring things that help you relax, things that you don't do often cause you don't have time. Things that you have fun doing." You told him. He nodded slowly and you smiled before leaving his room. "Maybe bring your knitting!" You yelled over your shoulder, a smirk on your face.

"Hey!" He yelled back and you laughed as you entered Leo's room. He looked up and gave you a smile.

"Ready to go?" He asked and you nodded vigorously.

"Of course. I'm really excited for this trip. It's gonna be so much fun," you replied happily. He laughed and grabbed the small bag next to him, sliding it over his shoulders and sheathing his katanas.

"I am too. It's been so long since we've just been able to-... relax." He sighed and you smiled.

"You guys did save the world. You deserve a vacation." You replied. He placed a hand on your shoulder and smiled.

"We saved the world. You know, we never could've done it without you," he said softly. You smiled and playfully slapped his plastron.

"Aww shucks. You're makin' me blush fearless," you said and he laughed before stringing an arm around your shoulders and walking out of the room with you to where April, Casey, and Mikey were chatting while they waited. You waved at April and Casey who smiled.
