You cracked open an eye to see the world around you was still dark. You were immediately awake when you checked the time on your phone and saw that sunset would be in 15 minutes.

You carefully got out of your tent, making sure not to wake Donnie who was still fast asleep, before running inside to get clothes and change.

You changed, brushed your hair, and ran back outside in record time to ensure you would see the sun rise.

You wandered down to the lake and lay out a towel to sit on, waiting patiently. What you didn't expect was someone else to be awake this early and saw you leave.

"I didn't think anyone else would be up this early," you said, not even turning around to know that it was Leo who was coming up to you. He chuckled and stood beside you, making you tilt your head up to meet his eyes.

"I didn't think that either. And also, how did you know it was me?"

"I don't know. Just a feeling," you shrugged. He nodded and you yanked on his hand to get him to sit next to you. "I've always been really good at sensing people around me."

"That sometimes takes years of practice to master," he sat down and said. "But anyhow, why are you out here this early?"

"I wanted to see the sunrise. It's never as nice in the city since the buildings cover most of it." You said. You glanced over to see him bite his lip and look over the water. "Have you ever seen a sunrise?" You asked. He hesitated before shrugging and playing with some sand beside him.

"Not really. I've half seen it. It's kinda hard to see from the sewers and we always are back at the lair by that time. And last time I was here; I was too busy retraining and dealing with my knee," he admitted. "I've seen photos though." You half smiled before leaning back a bit onto your hands.

"Well, the real thing is a million times better." You sighed happily. It was quiet as the sky started to get a bit brighter, the only noise being the water lapping lightly onto shore.

"I saw Donnie in your tent," Leo said suddenly. "Was he okay?"

"Yeah. Just had some trouble sleeping and wanted to see the stars," you said and then smiled. "I helped him get to sleep with a little trick I learned. He was asleep within ten minutes."

"Wha-... how?" Leo stared at you, incredulous.

"I'm magic," you chuckled and he laughed.

"Obviously. He never gets to sleep that fast, if at all. You'll have to teach me that trick." You smiled at him and then slapped him on the arm excitedly when you saw the first rays of sun peek over the water.

"Ow, hey-..."

"Shhhh. It's starting," you whispered and he looked to the horizon.

"Whoa-..." he breathed as the sky turned different shades of pink, purple, orange, yellow, and red, the reflection glinting brightly off the water. You sighed happily and glanced quickly over at the blue banded leader, seeing his eyes sparkling with the suns reflection, wide open as he witnessed his first true sunrise.

When it finished, you stood and dusted yourself off, smiling down at Leo.

"Come on, fearless. Let's go make some breakfast." He stood up and took one last look at the sun before following you across the sand. "But promise me you wont touch the toaster."

"*sigh* It's not my fault it hates me!"

Everyone woke up a bit later than they normally would; all happy and rested when they awoke.
