Chapter 9: "stupid is a mean word"

Kian wasn't looking at me. "Excuse me?!" I repeated and got out of the car. I opened his door and dragged him out of the seat.

"What's your problem?" He yelled "you are!" I yelled Andrea got out of the car and jc jumped up through the sun roof.

"What?" He said "first of all you kiss me! Sending your girlfriend to tears and rage! Second you argued with your girlfriend only because she wanted to have a nice night with you and third you called me stupid!" My hands were now fists.

"First of all I explained that! Second you that was a different reason and third it's cause you are!" I clenched my teeth and rammed him!

I punch his arms and squeezed my nails into his thigh. I didn't wanna hurt him, I wanted to warn him.

Andrea grabbed me off of him. "kian you know my problem with that word! Don't use it! Next time it will beat your ass til your black and blue all over!" I yelled and ripped my arms from Andrea grasp.

I shut myself inside the car. Andrea and kian got in afterward. Andrea mouthed "thank you" to me. I raised a brow and she whispered to me "He needed some sense knocked into him." she quietly giggled.

We were quiet for the rest of the way. When we got there Kian pulled Andrea over and apologized to her.

I walked next to jc as we got our badges. "So what's your deal with the word stupid?" He asked. I cringed when he said that.

"Long story..." I sighed "I got time." He said. We made out way to our tables. He was right beside me. "back in middle school I had a hard transition. One day the teacher felt anger and said I didn't turn in a paper, afterwards we had to grade papers and when I totaled it, the number missed was 10. I counted it 3 times to be sure." I took a deep breath.

"It's okay. You're secrets are safe with me. You can tell me anything." Jc said. I nodded and continued. "She counted it and said it was nine... then she announced to the class that I apparently couldn't count." I turned away not wanting tears down my face.

The memory was painful. "The next four years of highschool when our papers are graded and handed back, they bring it up. They called me stupid until freshman year and to stop it I joined the basketball team." I took another breath.

"The basketball team is a different story. But the captain was mouthing off and well... She came in with two working arms and left to the emergency room." I laughed a bit looking back.

"Dang. I'm sorry I need knew about that..." jc said "it's fine it's in the past, besides kids can be bastards." I laughed.
