Y/n walked the lonely streets of London looking for something to steal or eat.
About two years ago Y/n escaped her orphanage. The kids always teased her for having different colored eyes and constantly called her a 'freak', she was punished and beaten for having magical abilities. In the staffs eyes they were beating the magic out of her but all this brought was hatred.
Y/n hated the non magic folk. She saw them all the same. Inferior, weak, rude, selfish and arrogant.
"We should find something to eat, Bandit." Y/n told Bandit, her niffler. About a year ago Y/n wandered one of the busy streets and found a niffler, the niffler and Y/n became attached and they both stuck together.
Bandit looked up at her and nodded his head. They walked through the streets, Bandit graving anything shiny while Y/n looked for something to eat. She spotted a man selling bread and while he was distracted Y/n grabbed a loaf and ran.
Once she was down the street Bandit caught up and climbed onto her shoulder and held on. She ran through the streets and eventually into her alley and went up the stairs leading her to the roof. She laughed and handed the niffler a piece of bread.
Y/n had made a little home out of junk she found around. Sure, it was cold and sometimes wet from the rain but it felt homey. Y/n was 10 but highly intelligent for her age. Y/n and the niffler ate her bread while Y/n thought about her parents.
She remembered a man. A man with platinum blond hair, pale skin and different colored eyes. Y/n and the man's eyes looked the same but some facial features were different. Their hair was the same but Y/n's obviously longer. She assumed this man was her father, but she never remembered a woman.
"Where do you think my parents are?" Y/n asked Bandit even though she knew he couldn't respond. Y/n was snapped out of her thought by rustling in the alley and a voice groaning.
She peered over the roof and saw a boy she looked at the boy confused, this part of London was practically almost empty. You would rarely see people coming out of their homes. The boy looked at her and he got up and began climbing the stairs. Y/n quickly got a dagger that she had stole and got ready.
The boy came up and looked at her scared.
"Hey! Hey! Hey! Don't kill me!" He spoke fear in his voice.
"Give me a reason not too." She spoke.
"I-I-I'm alone. I just stumbled upon here. I tripped over something down there. Just please, I-I have no where to go. I'm all alone." He spoke. Y/n stared at him and finally lowered her dagger.
"Who are you?" Y/n asked.
"Thomas, Thomas Wright." He spoke. "You?" He asked.
"Y/n, Y/n Grindelwald." Y/n introduced herself.
"Are those your real eyes?" Thomas asked.
"Yeah-" Y/n began.
"They look cool. Where you born like that? You know, with different colored eyes?" The boy asked.
"Yeah." Y/n spoke. She was confused, everyone told her they were ugly but he didn't. It made her smile. "Where are your parents?" Y/n asked.
"Where are anyone's parents?" He spoke. "I don't know. I was in an orphanage since I could remember and then one day I heard they were going to send me away to this place." He spoke sadly.
"Oh... how old are you?" Y/n asked.
"10. Almost 11." He spoke.
"No way! Me too!" Y/n spoke. "Where you teased?" Y/n asked. Thomas gave her a confused look. "In the orphanage." Y/n added quickly.
"Oh, yeah. Loads." Thomas spoke.
"Me too." Y/n spoke and Bandit came and sat in her lap.
"What is that?" Thomas asked.
"Oh, this is Bandit! I'm not really sure what animal he is though." Y/n spoke.
"He's cool!" Thomas spoke. Y/n smiled.
"Yeah, he's attracted to shiny things." Y/n explained.
"Cool!" Thomas spoke admiring Bandit.
"When you say that they were going to send you away what do you mean?" Y/n asked.
"Um, well sometimes I can make things levitate or like slam doors without touching them... like magic!" Thomas spoke.
"Magic?" Y/n asked curiously.
"Yeah, look." Thomas spoke and then lifted her dagger and then dropped it.
"Wow." Y/n spoke amazed. "I have something like that. I've never made anything levitate before but I can talk to the dead, I can bring animals or human back to life and I have these visions sometimes." Y/n spoke.
"Those are way cooler!" Thomas spoke amazed. "Were like superheroes." Thomas spoke smiling. "Have you ever had a vision with your parents?" Thomas asked.
"No..." Y/n spoke sadly. "But visions change all the time." Y/n explained.
"Do you think they're still alive?" Thomas asked.
"I'd like to believe it." Y/n spoke after a moment of silence.
"But you don't?" Thomas asked.
"Well, it's just if my parents were alive why haven't they come looking for me? Maybe they don't want me, I don't know." Y/n spoke while fidgeting with her hands.
"I think mine are still alive. I just have a feeling." Thomas spoke. Y/n nodded.
"I have some memories... with a man. His hair was like mine, our eyes were identical. I don't know, I like to think that he is my father... but where did he go?" Y/n spoke sadly.
"I don't have any memories with my parents." Thomas spoke.
"Sorry." Y/n spoke. "Do you think I have a mom?" Y/n asked.
"Yeah! Everyone has a mom!" Thomas spoke.
"I know but like... living." Y/n spoke.
"I think so." Thomas spoke. They sat there together looking around. The silence was a comfortable silence.
"Your welcome to stay, if you'd like?" Y/n spoke breaking the silence. "I know it's not much but its homey." Y/n spoke. Thomas nodded.
They laid down and just stared upwards. "Let's find our parents! Together!" Thomas suggested.
"How would we?" Y/n asked.
"We ask around. Someone has to know something." Thomas spoke.
"Let's do it!" Y/n spoke smirking.
"Let's find our parents!" Thomas spoke smiling. They high-fived each other and soon fell into a dreamless sleep.
