It was finally the end of a horrifying summer

It was finally the end of a horrifying summer. Mother beat me countless times and insulted me. I sat in the train all alone, in a big sweater to cover up the bruises and scars. I stared out the window sadly.

I want to be at Durmstrang, not Hogwarts. Mother told me if I got expelled from here she wouldn't enroll me in another school. I agreed and here I am.

An old lady knocked on the door, "Anything off the trolly, dear?" She asked politely. I shook my head no. She nodded and continued walking.

A few hours later I noticed students getting up and changing into their robes, to blend in I went to the bathroom to change into mine.

My robes were just plain black but others had crests on them. I shrugged and went back to my compartment. Mother only bought me the necessities, nothing like a pet. She said if I did need to owl anyone I could use the owlery.

When the train stopped I noticed none of the students grabbed their luggages. Would they be brought out for me? I shrugged it off and walked off the train.

"I'm new, where do I go?" I asked a girl with a yellow crest.

"Oh! Hi, welcome! Go with Hagrid over there, you need to get sorted with the first years." She pointed. I nodded and walked away. I walked up to giant man and stared at him nervously.

"Are you sure you're a first year?" The giant, Hagrid asked.

"I'm not. I'm new, I need to be sorted some girl told me to come here." I spoke clearly. He nodded. I got on the boats with the stupid first years.

As they all watched the castle in awe, I couldn't help but look at the castle with anger. I didn't want to be here. This isn't home. I have no friends here. I kept my cold expression because I was not going to be seen as weak.

We got a speech by Professor McGonagall. She led us into the Great Hall.

Most embarrassing thing ever!

Not only am I standing with a bunch of first years but everyone's eyes were on me. I was taller than the first years, making me stick out. I impatiently listened for my name trying to ignore the stares. I kept my cold expression even though I was panicking.

"Grindelwald... Y/n?" Professor McGonagall asked. Suddenly I saw a very old man sit up in his seat. Gosh, he's old. I quickly went up to the stool and sat on it.

Grindelwald eh?

Very cunning, you would make a great leader. Slytherin would definitely help you grow, but I see lots of curiosity and intelligence!

What do you think?

"I don't know. I like blue, if that helps? I don't care just sort me!" I impatiently whispered.
