I walked into the Great Hall only to be bombarded with hundreds of students walking around. I pushed people out of my way and took a seat where I got a good view of everything. Luna sitting beside me.
I could see Michael deciding if he should sit with me or not. He ultimately decided not too and sat with some other Ravenclaws.
Wise choice.
But a part of me wanted him to sit with me, to just have our friendship back. I missed it honestly. Luna is fun but, Michael and I always just knew what we were thinking without having to say anything. Like some twin-telepathy shit.
Dumbledore's loud voice knocked me out of my thoughts, "Now, the moment you've all been waiting for... the champion selection." He turned dramatically, with his hand dimming the lights so that only the blue flame from the goblet illuminated the room.
"I like the fire... it's blue!" I whispered to Luna smiling. She just smiled and turned her eyes back to Dumbledore.
Dumbledore walked up to the goblet and for a second I thought he was going to kiss it but... he just held it and took 3 steps back.
Everyone waited, you could feel the tension in the air. Only the sound of the fire crackling could be heard. Everyone was on the edge of their seats wondering who would get picked.
The goblet's flame turned from blue to a red and out of the fire came a piece of parchment. Dumbledore quickly caught the parchment and read the piece of paper aloud, "The Durmstrang Champion is, Viktor Krum!"
Loud cheers were heard from Durmstrang, all the boys congratulated Viktor on his selection.
"Predictable." I spoke shrugging. Luna nodded in agreement.
Krum got up proudly representing his school with his fellow peers still cheering his name and just yelling in general. I clapped as well and cheered for Krum. He shook hands with Dumbledore and left to the trophy room.
The goblet grew red once again and everyone again watched in anticipation. Dumbledore read the second paper aloud, "The champion for Beauxbatons... is Fleur Delacour!"
Loud claps arose from the girl filled table. A couple cheering but most of them kept their "class" and just clapped while smiling.
Fleur got up with a huge smile and proudly made her way over to Dumbledore where he again shook her hand and she also left to the trophy room.
Another paper flew out.
Finally, Hogwarts!
"The Hogwarts Champion, Cedric Diggory!"
The loudest cheer out of the whole night arose, especially from the Hufflepuffs. They were definitely proud of being represented in the tournament. After all, everyone sort of disregards them and refers to them as the weak house.
Cedric still in complete shock got up and shook Dumbledore's hand and quickly went to the trophy room.
"Excellent! We now have our three champions! But in the end, only one will go down in history. Only one will hoist this chalice of champions, this vessel of victory... the Triwizard Cup!" Dumbledore spoke dramatically pointing at the cup towards the end.
Barty Crouch removed the cloth covering the cup and many people gasped at the sight of it.
The cup was a beautiful sterling silver adorned with a glowing blue clear glass. The cup also illuminated the front of the room near the teachers. In the cup was engraved the words 'TRIWIZARD CUP'.
Snape began to walk slowly towards the goblet noticing it turning a bright red again. This red was brighter than the rest. It almost hurt to look at.
The goblet finally shot out two pieces of parchment. Dumbledore's face grew pale and he looked shocked.
