I: Moonlight Daycare
Third POV
It was only 7:30 AM in the Saitama Prefecture in Japan, but despite that, the city was as noisy as it always was.
Currently, in an almost minimalist-styled apartment bedroom, the golden hues of sunlight poured through the white sheer curtains and onto a figure who slept peacefully on a queen-sized bed.
The viridian pools they had for eyes fluttered open, only following after the sound of their alarm clock, allowing the idea to settle in that it was time to rise and get ready for work.
Tugging the white blanket off their body they slipped out of bed with a ruffling sound of the bedsheet, placing one of their small slender hands on their head and raking through the thick green locks of curls.
They shuffled their way over to the small master bathroom, doing the daily things like showering and brushing their teeth.
Before heading to get dressed they stared at themselves in the mirror; how their skin glowed before flashing a pearly white smile.
Exiting the bathroom and turning to the closet, they pulled out their outfit for the day.
A thin, plain long sleeve turtleneck overlaid with a cropped, striped pastel rainbow shirt. For pants, they donned black high-waisted, white stitch pants, and simple sneakers.
Walking over to their small desk, they grabbed their phone, wallet and house keys, and a light yellow backpack that was decorated with colorful pins and key chains along the zipper.
They stared at a picture of them and their mother before picking up a simple golden ring and putting it on their ring finger.
"Wish me luck, mom..." They gently whispered, donning a sweet look on their champagne pink lips.
And with that, they were out of the house by 8:00 am, just enough time to head to the subway so they could get to work.
By the time they had made it into the subway, they'd taken out and put on their name ID from the side pocket of their backpack pocket.
Izuku Midoriya
ID number: 212318
Occupation: Class Flower A Teacher
Moonlight Daycare CenterHe worked for the Moonlight Daycare Center; a rather popular daycare center that was the very first starting point for many high-ranking-business conglomerates and influencers in Japan, pro heroes included.
Naturally, it'd only make sense if these people sent their youngest children here to get a proactive start in their futures- even if they were still babbling and slightly slobbering.
Izuku turned on his phone, popping in earbuds as he watched the latest on hero drama.
"That's right, Shizuki! These new upcoming heroes have proved themselves time and time again, beating some of the fastest recorded times by their predecessors, and I can't help but feel as though the latest number one hero might even be close to competing against former number one heroes, Endeavor and our symbol of peace, All Might!"
Izuku's glazed-over look could've burnt a hole through his phone.
Hero.
That's all he'd ever wanted to be when he was just a little boy like the kids he taught. Heck, he basically worshipped the former number one hero, All might his entire life.
But when he didn't get his quirk like 80% of the population, he quickly realized that the world isn't as nice as it's painted out to be in those motivational posters given out by the heroes commission.
The world was a shade of gray- none of that white or black business everyone was so quick to paint out.
That glimmer of hope he carried when still trying to become a hero, instantly diminished after having All Might tell him that he couldn't be a hero.
Was he surprised? No, not really.
He'd have enough people telling him that already.
His doctor... his mom... his classmates...
Him...
And even his longtime idol, who now meant nothing more to him than ever.
After years of wishing to become a hero, he'd finally let go in his third year of middle school, deciding that if he couldn't become a pro hero as he'd envisioned, then the least he could be to become a light.
To those who don't have a power and get shut down constantly for their dream, no matter what it may be by those around them.
He wanted to be one person. One person who fuels his students to do their best and do something he couldn't do.
And that was to achieve their dreams, no matter how big or small they were.
He'd pause the news on his phone and gotten off the subway, walking down the slightly less busy sidewalk and making a right to see the large daycare center.
A place he found the most joy in after seeing so many bright and young smiles.
He walked into the school building, and down the first hall to a dark classroom, but still slightly
illuminated by the bright colors all around.Toggling the lights on he moved quickly to put everything in place for the children so that they both could have a successful Friday.
Pulling out chairs, wiping the table with cleaning wipes, pulling out art supplies and workbooks- preparing all the essentials he deemed for a good day.
10 minutes had passed as Izuku slowly backed up so he'd stand in front of the classroom, staring at the doorway that would be filled with hyperactive children.
He could hear the rampant footsteps, before seeing small bodies enter the classroom and immediately take their assigned seats at one of the colorful tables and mini chairs.
The indistinct mumbles gradually quieted down as all eyes turned to look at their teacher who smiled enthusiastically.
"GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE!" Izuku smiled brightly, holding out his hands so everyone else could respond like they usually did.
"GOOD MORNING, DEKU!" They all cooed just as loudly, eager grins on their face as they watched their homeroom teacher prepare the lesson.
Izuku looked around, picking up an attendance sheet, one by one calling out each kid's names earning a 'here' or a 'hi' as a response.
While it might not have been his dream occupation, Izuku knew for a fact he wouldn't give this job up for the world.
