XVI: Unfair
Third POV
Eventually, Izuku and Katsuki did pull apart and izuku went home.
He knew he should've been focusing on anything else but he couldn't help himself. using his phone and scrolling through the different trending tags on Dynamight.
He was hoping to catch whatever statement Katsuki's PR team would have him state to keep his fans under control and out of his (and Izuku's) business.
7:00 pm, Nothing.
8:00 pm, Nothing.
By the time 9:00 had hit Izuku had felt like he'd hit a miniature version of carpal tunnel in his index finger joint, just about ready to get out his clothing for tomorrow and get ready for bed when he got a notification.
'GEMG: Dynamight is live now!'
Like lighting, Izuku pressed on it with no hesitation loading in as he watched the view count go up.
70...
1k...
34k...
250k...
Izuku watched as over five hundred thousand people logged on to watch the number one hero address the rumors among other things.
Even though he wasn't the one in front of the camera, being asked questions about his very personal life, Izuku couldn't help but feel so nervous for Katsuki.
He stared at Katsuki who sat in a room, one that looked like it belong inside his home instead of his hero agency.
His eyes were illuminated more than usual by a standby ring light, as he looked into the camera before down at the screen that was being flooded with different comments; ranging from thirst, hate, and of course the million-dollar question:
"Who was that person you were with?"
"Alright is everyone here?" He questioned, instantly getting more spam in the chat of 'yes' and 'obviously', "If you wanna record this and share I suggest you start now cause I only plan on answering one question then I'm going to bed."
He sounded annoyed on Izuku's end, and of course, the boy understood to a certain extent.
"Okay- Y'all wanted to know who that person was in the pictures right?" He questioned, "Well, I'm always gonna be a transparent person towards all of you because I personally can't stand being left in the dark."
He disregarded the comments of praise and comparison towards former heroes who weren't always transparent to their fans and the rest of the public.
"That person you all saw was an old childhood friend of mine who I haven't seen in years," Katsuki started, "I met up with them recently and asked if they wanted to get something to eat and catch up."
"We were just reconnecting- there are no feelings of love or some relationship bullshit some of yall began to post all of the social media- I'm sick of it and would prefer if you'd dropped it because we're both uncomfortable with these accusations." He muttered, "So with that being said and put out there- I don't love any single person at the moment and that's not gonna change anytime soon."
Izuku's heart panged, listening to Katsuki speak so coldly as if they didn't just pour their hearts out to one another hours ago.
"Anyways I'm fucking exhausted, so this is Great Explosion Murder God: Dynamight signing out until whenever I feel like coming back on. bye." Katsuki finished, as the live immediately cut out.
The explanation was over just a second ago, yet blogs and major fan accounts of dynamight reposted the live stream anywhere it could've been shown.
Strome people even went as far to say things like:
"I knew dynamight wouldn't date anyone! especially whoever that was.."
"Yknow some of you look dumb for accusing him of being with someone- Dynamight would never!"
"You all are really acting as if that 1% chance you had with the number one hero was a 100%, I needed a good laugh, night yall!"
Izuku didn't even want to look at the rest of the comments- turning off his phone and not bothering to look at it until tomorrow morning, which by the way he dreaded because he'd gotten an email from the principal which read,
'Good evening, Izuku Midoriya,
I couldn't help but notice some of the drama unfold with Pro-hero dynamight; more specifically how the person he was with oddly looked like you from behind. I'm planning on giving you the benefit of doubt, but I'd be more at ease if you report to my office, the first thing on Monday.
Thank you for your cooperation,
Sincerely, Principle Nozomi, Kaede.'
Izuku slipped under his sheets; mentally, physically, and obviously emotionally exhausted by today's theatrics.
His phone pinged with yet another text notification, not seeing the actual message itself, but the person it was from:
'Katsuki'
He flipped his phone so it'd be backside up before rolling over so it'd be no longer in sight.
And under his breath, he whispered,
"Go away, Katsuki.."
. . .
Meanwhile, at Katsuki's home, he got up from his swivel chair in his designated interview room for whenever he'd have to go on one of these lives and address anything his fans were desperate to know.
He looked around, seeing multiple people from his PR team with him as he did the live- directing him on what to say yet still sticking with his everyday image.
Basically to make him sound like a kiss-up, but maintain that hardcore, 'i don't care what anyone thinks' personally he had going on.
He pulled out his phone, only trying to ask izuku if he watched it...
And tell him that he still feels the same way and cares about the daycare teacher.
All of this was a pain in the ass...
"Well?" Katsuki muttered, turning over to the head of his PR team, "Can you all please leave my home now?"
"Yep, your fans have subsided for another day, night Bakugo." The head nodded before telling everyone to follow them so they could head out.
With a bang of the door, Katsuki slouched in his seat and let out an exasperated sigh.
In conclusion, today had to be one of the best and worst days of his life.
