IX: Just Acquaintances
Third POV
It was 4:00 am on Saturday when Katsuki awoke to the sound of crying.
Quickly slipping on some pants, yet sleepily striding over to Keiko's room to see what all the fuss was about.
He turned up the brightness switch on the side over the bedroom, wincing from the glare of recessed light before he headed over to her crib.
He bent over, picking up his daughter, whose whines didn't seem to dwindle, but her body was unnervingly warmer than usual.
He felt around her neck then her forehead, watching how flushed her forehead and cheeks were then normal.
"Daddy-!" She wailed, burying her face into his shoulder blade, as Katsuki bounced her slightly trying to calm her down.
"It's okay... you'll be okay..." He muttered under his breath, as he carried her to the bathroom and the medicine cabinet, pulling out a thermometer.
Turning it on before sticking it under her tongue.
He waited for a moment or two, her cries dwindling but the incoming sniffling and erratic inhalation would be another case.
The thermometer beeped as Katsuki pulled it out from her mouth, reading the final numbers, and a slightly annoyed tsk left his mouth.
101.5
Great.
She was sick.
At this point, it was too late for him to call in sick and it'd be hard to find a babysitter on such short notice.
Because of his explosion quirk, his ability to withstand a higher level of internal heat was much more than Keiko could only handle so much.
After all, she was still a toddler.
He then placed the thermometer in its appropriate place before pulling out bubblegum flavored medicine.
Filling the measuring cap he watched Keiko down it before lazily placing her head down once more, lazily staring at her father in the mirror as he watched her.
Her nose and cheeks were a light pink color, feeling herself become drowsier.
He turned off the lights to the bathroom and headed back to her bedroom, placing her into the crib, but instead of leaving, he sat on the bare wood flooring, linking index fingers as he watched her sleep.
Her lips parted as light wisps left her mouth. He'd sit here beside her until it would be rime for him to leave.
It was among the multiple duties he took when he found out he was a dad.
~flashback~
He was nearing the peak of his current hero career. Earned multiple accolades for being one of the youngest pro-hero to be this successful.
With this, he managed to fall into a miniature playboy status with a fellow pro hero who he'd met during his first year of hero school.
