George POV

Weekend, finally. I loved weekends, mostly. Most of the weekends were kind of a break for me from Clay and all that. Sometimes I even saw my parents longer than usual. But some weekends weren't any better. Sometimes a couple of Clay's friends would follow me home after school and have fun with me there. However, this only happened very seldom, as I once assumed they wanted to do other things on their weekends as well.

Nick kept telling me to talk with Clay, but to be honest, that was actually the last thing I wanted to do. I knew it was sensible, but would it have made any difference? In the end, I would regret it anyway. I didn't have to get used to anything, it was like usual. The whole beating, that was usually the case. The only thing that made me sweat at night was feeling that I liked Clay, really liked.

"George!", I heard the voice of my dad screaming from downstairs while lying in bed.
"Dad?", I stood up. "George, we are home my dear", my mom yelled. I ran downstairs and saw them putting their things on the dining room table and smiling bright at me.
"We got off today. We can finally spend the day together again", my mom said.
"You are free today? Why are you free today?", I asked confused. Their boss would never give them a day off just so.
"I don't know darling, everybody could go home. Must be something private", my dad explained.

I ran towards them into my dads arms.
"I missed you", I said.
"We missed you too. Let's do something!", my dad patted my head.

We spent the afternoon playing a few board games and talking a lot. I didn't always get the chance to talk to my parents. Of course I didn't tell them everything. I told them about how school was going and that I thought I had made some friends.

Eventually my phone rang. "One sec", I went over to my phone and answered it.
"Hey Nick, what's up?", I began.
"George, George,...", he sounded nervous.
"Is everything alright? Did something happen?", I asked worried. I could see my parents looking over at me, confused and worried.
"I have to talk to you. I need help, are you free right now?", he asked in a trembling voice.
"Ouh, actually I am able to spend time with my parents after ages again today, I-..."
My mom ran towards me waving with her hands. "Darling, it's fine. If something's up, you can go, we will have another day...some time." She seemed understanding, but there was also some disappointment in her voice. I couldn't just throw away such a rare day.

"Uhm,...", I said indecisive.
"Is this one of the friends you told us about?", my dad asked.
"Yes"
"Put it on the loudspeaker"
I did so.
"Hey, you are?", my mom asked softly.
"Hi parents of George", Nick said, still tembling.
"Do you need our son?"
"Actually, yeah. Could you possibly do without him, or am I disturbing?"
"It's fine George, you can go", my dad saud.
"Sure?"
"Yeah, we'll get more days off. That's okay."

I turned the speaker off again.
"Okay Nick, should I come to you?", I asked quickly.
With a yeah he told me his address and I said goodbye to my parents before leaving.
I had to walk for about 15 minutes, but that was fine. When I arrived at his house, I knocked at the door.
"Nick? It's me, George!" With that the door opened with Nick standing there in front of me, bright red.
"Gosh, what happened?", I asked worried. Then he grabbed my wrist and pulled me in before closing the door behind me.
"George, I'm so sorry if I just broke something for you, but ...", he paused. I used this pause to tell him "You didn't break anything. You're more important. So, what happened?"
"Karl asked me to go on a date"

"What?! That's wonderful Nick! I wanna hear the whole story!", I yelled exited.
"Okay, so this happened alright....", he began while he sat on the couch. I sat down beside him.
"You know he gave me his number, right? And like, we texted a lot since that. A lot."
"It's only been 5 hours since you got home. What did you text each other?", I moved closer to him.
"Actually we just talked about ourselves. We really got to know each other. George, he is so fucking cute!" He leaned down and buried his face in my thigh.

"Must really have been love at first sight", I giggled while patting his head. He hit me lightly in the side with a crying laugh.
"Keep going, I wanna know more", I said, shaking him.
"I couldn't stop thinking about him, I was smiling at my phone the whole time", he sat straight up again and was blushing bright, "Then eventually he was asking me if we wanted to meet tomorrow and I typed-...I didn't even think about it, I just typed 'you mean a date?'. I'm so stupid!"
"What did he say then?!" I shook him again.

He looked at me with a crying face.
"You could call it that....WINKY FACE!"

I opened my mouth in excitement, then went to a bright smile.
"Nick, that's great!"
"I know!", he screamed back. He looked so blown away, he must have been so happy. "So, what have you planned?", I asked.
"Planned? I don't know...", he said.
"Nick, we have to plan a special date for Karl! No but, I'll help you! We'll take care of it now!", I said with adrenaline.
"Wh- what are you thinking about?", he asked with a shy voice.
"Wow, since when are you like this? I always thought you were Clay's sensible, cool best friend, who has a solution for everything and who is relaxed about everything", I raised an eyebrow at him.
"ouh, shut up! This is something else! I have no experience with this!", he defended himself.
"And you think that I have?!", I came towards him.

"C'mon, I had no idea what to do. It's such a strange feeling to me. Please, I don't wanna screw this up."
"okay, okay, let me think...."
