Nick POV

When I got back from school, I went straight to Clay to tell him everything. I rang the doorbell, but no one opened for the next 20 seconds. Was he asleep? Then I rang two more times and finally Clay was standing in front of me.
"Clay, are you alright?", I asked when I saw his red eyes.
"Yeah, what's up?", he grumbled, letting me in.
"Clay, did you cry?"
"Why does that matter? Tell me why you're here", he looked at me annoyed.

He had been crying. But why? Everything was going to be okay now, wasn't it?
"Uhm, I just wanted to tell you how it went", I said.
"So, how did it go?", he raised his eyebrows.
"I assume that he believes us. He sent Floris home and said he should bring his parents with him tomorrow to sort it out. Let's hope it works", I explained.
"Ah okay, good", was everything Clay commented.

"Clay, are you really okay? Why are you like that?", I asked worried.
"What do you mean? I'm fine", he fake smiled at me, and not even good.
"Were you sleeping?"
"Yes, I'm just tired", he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Sure?", I tilted my head. I knew that he was lying. I always knew when Clay wasn't okay, but he was still trying to lie to me.
"Yes Nick", he sighed.
"George?", I raised my eyebrows.
"Yes....", he eventually looked down to the floor and clenched his teeth.

"But you'll be fine soon. Floris will fuck off and leave you alone, isn't he?", I stepped closer to him.
"I just miss him so much", he slightly began to sob.
"You can see him tomorrow!", I remembered.
He looked up to me with a confused glance.
"The principal wants you and George to confirm what we said tomorrow", I smiled at him.
Clay's eyes slowly widened a bit.

"Will it all end tomorrow?", he stared at me.
"Probably. But you can see him again!", I tried to cheer him up. He just slowly nodded at me and then went back to the stairs.
"Stay or go as you want. I am upstairs", I heard from him as he walked up the stairs. I decided just to leave him alone and left the house.

I went to my house and saw George sitting on the couch with a sandwich. He smiled weakly at me.
"Hey", I smiled back.
"Hey."
"What are you doing?", I took off my shoes and went over to him.
"Nothing. Just chilling here. I woke up like one and a half hour ago", he said.
"Ah, okay", I sat down next to him while he ate the sandwich in peace, "Hey, I have to tell you something."

"What?", he looked over to me with raised eyebrows.
"You have to go to school tomorrow-", he interrupted me before I even could end the sentence.
"And why?", he glanced at me expressionless.
"Becausseeeee", I continued, "You will testify to the director and confirm what Floris did to you."
I smiled at him and expected a good reaction, but instead he looked at me confused.
"What? Why should I do that?"
"Because you and Clay can be back together then", I smiled broadly.

"What? What did you do?", he looked more confused.
"Karl, I and Clay's whole rugby team testified against Floris with the principal and told him everything. That's how we get him from school. Clay, Alex, Zak, Will and Brian did the rest, he will definitely not interfere with you any longer. Now you and Clay just have to-", I rattled off until George stopped me.

"Wowowow, wait a second", he waved his hand, "What did you guys do?"
"We made sure that Floris is no longer between you and Clay. There is no longer any danger. You can-", I smiled but stopped when I saw Georges expression. He looked at the floor with an expression mixed with sadness and thoughtfulness.

"George?", I gave him a worried gaze.
"You're saying you just decided that without me? You're just telling me to go back to him? Why did you do that? That with Floris?", he knitted his eyebrows.
"What? I thought you would be happy about that. We'll get rid of him! Just like you wanted!", I said excited.
"Why did you decide that without me Nick?!", he got louder.
"George", I said calmly, "It was Clay. Clay had planned that. For you."

Now he looked back down to the floor and clenched his teeth before swallowing heavily.
"If you want him again, like he wants you, then get up with me tomorrow and go to school to testify", I stood up and wanted to give him rest, but then he said something.
"I will testify, promise", he said quietly while not changing his position or expression.
"Good", I smiled before going upstairs.

George POV

The next morning Nick woke me up and we got up and had breakfast together. We both took a quick shower and then left the house. Nick wanted to walk because it was a bit warmer day and he felt good. A few meters away from the house, I said "Ouh, damnit, I forgot something. Go ahead, I'll come after you."
"Okay", he smiled, giving me the house key. I went back inside and he kept walking.

I did not forget something actually...To be honest, I just didn't want to see Clay and decided to testify later when Clay would be in class.
And so I did too. I left about 30 minutes later and when I got there, everything was quiet. I quietly entered the building and went to the office. I knocked gently and eventually heard a "Yes?"

I entered the room and said "Hello, I'm George Davidson, I wanted to-" but got interrupted there by the principal.
"Ah yes, George, why now if I could ask. Why didn't you come with Clay earlier? Shouldn't you have class now?", he crossed his arms suspiciously.
"Uh, sorry, There was quite a lot going on at home this morning and I had to help my parents with something. I am really very sorry", I lied, smiling.

"Okay, then sit down", he sighed. I did so and then told him everything about Floris.
"Ouh, that's a bit more than Clay had told me. That's....wow", he raised his eyebrows when I was finished.
"Yeah, I hadn't told him everything of that", I pressed my lips together.
"So, George, I really think-", he wanted to say to me but got interrupted by someone knocking on the door.

"Yes?", he called. Then I saw Floris entering the room with an annoyed looking woman, probably his mom.
"Ah, there you are", the principal smiled, "I already thought you wouldn't come."
"I'm so sorry sir, my son is....well", the woman sighed.
"Okay George, you can go to class now. I will talk to them now. Thank you for your statement", he smiled at me.
"Okay", I smiled back and left the room.

I didn't go yet and listened briefly at the door.
"I want to apologize for him. His father was a terrible role model for him. Now we're rid of him and I'm trying to bring him up in the right direction again, but ... between us ...", the woman said before whispering something what I couldn't understand.
"Mom, I could hear that, you don't have to whisper that. I know that you think that", I heard Floris saying with an annoyed voice.
"I'm really trying, but he's a psychopath. It's from his dad", the woman eventually sighed.

'I KNOW, RIGHT?!', I thought.
