Clay POV
We walked down a long corridor into a large hall with many desks with people sitting. We went through them until he finally stopped.
"Mr. and Mrs. Davidson, you have the day off today. Thank this young man here. He says it's important", he explained to them.
The couple who sat in front of us looked at us and at each other alternately confused but then grabbed their stuff and stood up."Now, you can go", the Managing Director said and walked away back to his office.
"What happened?", the woman asked confused and also worried.
"I'll tell you on the way miss, just show me the way out of here", I giggled.
They walked ahead and I followed them until we came to another large hall.
"I wanted to talk with you about some important things. It's about George", I began.
"Our George? What's up with him?", the man asked. They kept walking towards the exit and I was next to them.
"A few important things happened that you should know and I also need your help", I explained.
"Ouh, I hope nothing bad happened", May said worried.
We reached the exit and came out.
"What do you think if I tell you everything over a cup of coffee?", I suggested. I didn't really want coffee. I had applied that to them. I would drink something else.
"Okay", Clark said.We took our cars and drove a little further to a small café.
"Alright, now tell us, what happened?", Clark asked when we sat down on a table there.
"So, I know you never even noticed because, after all, you're never home. Anyway, George is currently having problems and is being beaten up more often by a group", I began. I left out that this has been the case for a long time and, for my own protection, that I had always been part of it.
"Ouh god, that's horrible!", May put her hands on her mouth with a gasp."Now your son and I have come very close and I want to protect him, I hope you can somehow understand that", I continued explaining.
"Ouh thank you,....how was your name again?", May said.
"Clay."
"Thank you Clay, that's great of you. As long as George is okay, I'd be ready to put him in your hands. You seem like a good guy", she smiled.I gave her a smile back before looking at the man.
"So, even if I try to be with him as often as possible, we are separated by different classes and when we are each at home. I know I'm asking a lot of things from you, but it's only for the safety of your own son, and he's 17 now and I don't see any problem with my suggestions..."
"That would be?", Georges dad asked."Okay", I breathed in, "I ask you to let him live with me." There, I already could see the shocked face of the mother.
"I promise you he will never be short of anything. I have a rich house. My father is the Managing Director of Kolesta. I will always be there for him", I said before one of them could say no, "I know that's probably asking a lot, but it doesn't do him any good if he stays with you. You're never home anyway. It would probably be a little easier for you too, the costs would decrease and-", Clark cut me off."Clay", he huffed what gave me a bad feeling, but then he went on. "I think you are absolutely right. If George can confirm all of this to me, I have no problem with it. As long as George is okay, he can stay with you, with a good friend."
'Friend, yeah', I thought myself. I was so glad when he saw that. George had very understanding parents."Okay, then I see it the same way as my husband", May eventually said.
"Alright, that's wonderful, thank you", I smiled.
"No, we have to thank you, Clay", Clark smiled back.
"What about the different classes?", May asked.
"I'll just switch to his class. As stupid as it sounds, you can get anything with money and my parents have more than enough of that", I explained sighting. Then a waitress came and they both ordered a coffee, I just said water, because I didn't just want to say nothing. We sat a while longer, drinking and talking about George. I told them what a great guy he had become and they started asking questions about him. Of course, I was always careful not to say anything that I wasn't sure George wanted his parents to know about. For example, our relationship with each other, or his hard, painful life before.
When we finished drinking, we got into our cars and I took them to my home, where George was waiting. I had only been gone two and a half hours and he was dozing on the couch. He got up quickly when he heard me opening the door and coming into the room.
"Clay! Finally! I missed you", he came towards me.
"Look who I brought with me", I pointed behind me where his parents where coming.
George wanted to hug me but immediately backed away when he saw them.
"Wow Clay, your house is really really big", May said, looking around."Hello George", Clark opened his arms and gave George a hug.
"Uhm, hey? What are you doing here?", George asked confused.
"Clay told us everything", May said.
"Everything?", George looked at me.
"About the plan that you move to him", his dad explained.
George looked at me in shock and I gave him a big grin."Uhm, yeah", he played along.
"So, is it true that you have problems with some guys and feel safe with him?", Clark asked.
"Oh God, I'm only now noticing your injuries. Clay, did you take care of them?", May said worried.
I nodded with a smile and she patted my shoulder with a "Thank you""Ye-yeah, that is true", George eventually said.
"Okay, then I have nothing against it", George's dad said.
"Wait, really? I- I can move to Clay? Seriously?", George asked excited.
"Of course baby, we just want you to be safe and happy. You know what's the right thing for yourself", May hugged him tight."Wow, euhm, thank you!", George hugged back and looked at me with shiny eyes what made me giggle. I loved seeing him like that.
"Then get your stuff from home. Clay, you have a free room, right?", Clark said.
"Yeah, of course."
"Okay George, go pack up then. Clay gave me and May the day off and maybe we could do something later?", he then suggested.
"Okay, of course", George responded, still smiling.
"Then let's go home", May said.________________________________________________________
