Nick POV

After school I went home to George. He didn't want to go to school. He didn't want to see Clay. When I got home, he was still in bed with a tearful face.
"Hey sweetie", I stroked his arm to wake him up.
"Please don't call me that", he grumbled while slowly opening his eyes.
"Okay, sorry. You want to eat something?", I sat down on the bed to him.

"No, not hungry", he said expressionless.
"George, you need to eat something", I said seriously.
"I'm not hungry, thanks", he said again, sitting up.
"George, that is not healthy, please eat something. Just a little bit", I rubbed small circles on his back.
"Okay, if it makes you happy", he rolled his eyes annoyed.

"George, I hate it to see you like that", I looked at him worried.
"It's fine", he forced himself to smile at me.
"I talked with Clay today", I eventually said what caused him to quickly look at me.
"About what?", he asked quietly.
"Not much. He's coming here later to talk about something. Probably you, George", I said.

Then his look wandered to the floor.
"He's coming here?", George asked.
"Yes, but you don't have to be there. Just stay here upstairs", I said.
"Okay..."

"George", I eventually took a deep breath, "You should've seen him. I bet he's driving himself crazy about you. I bet he cried the whole night too."
George just clenched his teeth and stared at the floor.
"Okay, however, I'll make you a sandwich now. I'll be right back." And with that I left the room and went downstairs.

When I had brought him the bread with ham, I left him alone and watched something on TV downstairs. About an hour and a half later the doorbell rang. Clay. When I opened the door, he was standing in front of me with wet hair.
"Just showered?", I asked.
"Yeah."
"Okay, come in", I waved him inside and he took off his shoes.

"So....uhm....", Clay began when we sat down on the couch to 'talk', "Actually I wanted to tell you something, but looks like you already know?"
"Depends on what you're talking about, but yes, I think I know it", I leaned back on the armrest. We sat across from each other on the couch, Clay roughly in the middle of the sofa, one leg bent and the other dangling from the sofa. I sat at the end of the couch and could therefore lean against the armrest.

"Nick, please, I need your help. What did he tell you? What was the reason? What does he feel? Why did he do that? Why-", he rattled off until I interrupted him.
"Okay, calm Clay, calm", I quickly sat up straight and put my hand onto his thigh.

"No, not until this is cleared. What is up with George?", he looked me deep into the eyes.
"Okay,...first of all, George said he wanted to 'give the time some time', so don't do something ill-considered", I said.
"I just want to know the reason. Then, then we can find a solution", he breathed fast.
"Clay.....", I softly caressed his thigh, "Please calm down."
Then he took a deep breath in and out.
"Please Nick, I need to know what's wrong", he looked at me, clenching his teeth.

"Maybe I'm not allowed to tell you that, but it's just so bullshit, you need to know it", I sighed, "Okay, so...Floris forced him. He didn't tell me exactly about it either, but it must have been pretty bad. He didn't want to stop calling him a psychopath-", I explained but then got interrupted by Clay.
"I knew it! This stupid motherfucker! He will pay for that!", Clay said angrily in a loud tone.
"Clay!", I yelled, "Listen to me." He quickly looked back at me and swallowed.

"George kept saying that Floris was dangerous and had the power to make your life hell and that breaking up was the best option", I raised my eyebrows.
"So, he- he really wanted to end this because of.....this shitty asshole?", Clay's expression changed to sadness.
"He said he just did it for YOUR best. Clay, he still loves you more than everything else on the world", I sighed.
"And so do I! So why don't we just fight together?!", Clay overreacted again, "Where is he? You know where he is, don't you?!"

"Clay, hey! Shh! No screaming", I shut him off.
"Why? Wait, he's here? He's here with you. I need to see him. Talk to him!", Clay quickly stood up and walked in direction of the stairs.
"Clay! No!", I ran after him and grabbed his arm.
Clay tore himself away and just kept walking.
"Clay! He doesn't want to see you! Stop!", I yelled at him what fortunately caused him to stop.

"He doesn't want to see me?", he turned around to me and I saw a tear escaping his eyes.
"Clay, listen, I agree with you that we have to get rid of this fucker Floris, but give George time. He hasn't stop crying since he came here yesterday. You just would make it even more painful for him if he saw you now", I said calmly.
"Nick, you don't understand that! This is worse than a drug withdrawal for me! I can't without him! I want to touch him, want to kiss him, tell him how much I love him, I want to see him!", Clay yelled at me while starting to cry.

"Okay, okay, shh", I walked to him and wrapped my hand around his neck before pulling him to me. He wrapped his arms around me tightly and we hugged for a few seconds.
"I just- it hurts so much", Clay sobbed into my shoulder.
"I know, I know", I whispered, stroking his back.
"Everything will be fine again, right?", he cried quietly.
"Yes, I'm sure."

"So", he pulled away and wiped away his tears, "What's the plan?"
I gave him a confused glance.
"We have to get rid of Floris, right? So let's do that. However we will do it, I will do everything for it!", he said determined.
"Yeah, okay, uhm...", I considered for a second, "We should need people that are on our side. If we can get Floris out of school, should it work?"

"He knows where I live", Clay pressed his lips together.
"Ouh, well, that's actually a problem...hmm....", I considered again, "We...hmm, we have to show him that he should better leave you guys alone. How do we do that....."
"I know how!", Clay eventually said.
"Okay, how?"
"I have an excellent idea", he rubbed his hands with a smirk.
"Okay? Tell me", I said impatient.

"I'll get some good friends. We're getting rid of Floris. Surely!", Clay said while quickly walking to the door.
"Wai- what's your idea?!", I yelled after him but he already was gone. Well, if works what he had planned, everything would be fine, right? If he needed anything he would let me know, I just decided to focus on George. Everything would be fine. I knew Clay too well. The guy would never give up if he wanted something.

It was fitting that Karl texted me a message at that very moment and asked if we could do anything. I had to cheer George up now!
