"Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time."
- Phrynette Married by Marthe Troly-Curtin****
I heard the muffled click of the front door, signaling that the others had finally all left and Harry had closed the door behind them. It also meant that we were now completely alone in the house.
It took me a while to hear his footsteps in the hallway, probably he had turned on the security system of the house and garden before, he did that every night. It made me feel more comfortable to know that we are safe here.
Now I heard his footsteps clearly, they were slow and definite. He took his time and did not hurry. Now I saw him too, he entered the kitchen where I was. I was casually leaning against the kitchen counter, just waiting for him.
"These team sessions get more interesting every time." he said smiling as he walked closer to me. But something was wrong, he was relaxed. Too relaxed.
His posture alone showed this, he was not tense nor was he trying to force himself to hold back. Then there was his voice. It had become rougher but still it was very casual and showed no anger.
"I think so too," I replied as I eyed him. "There's always something new happening."
I had challenged him knowing he wouldn't put up with it, but all of a sudden he doesn't seem interested anymore?
"Oh yes, that's true." he nodded in agreement. He walked closer to me until he stopped right in front of me, his green eyes gleaming with a hint of cockiness.
"While there is still a lot of fighting, no one has died yet." chuckled Harry. He now leaned against the kitchen counter on the opposite side.
"True. We've got them pretty well under control, don't you think?" I replied with a wry grin.
Harry never makes empty threats. I wonder why he's so relaxed and doesn't immediately push me against the fridge to make good on his promise of consequences.
"Do you know what happened in the motel room between Niall and Layla?" he now asked with interest.
A little stunned, I shook my head. "I don't know. She didn't say anything. Why?"
"While they were arguing he mentioned that night but before he could talk further she slapped him," Harry replied and I bit my lower lip thoughtfully.
"Hmm, apparently she doesn't want him to talk about it," I muttered. "Oh my god what if something happened between those two?"
