When I woke up the next morning I immediately felt that something was wrong. The place next to me in bed was empty, Ash was not there.

I got up and went downstairs, wondering where she was. And I didn't have to look for long, I found her in the living room, fully dressed and with a pen in her hand.

She was sitting on one of the two sofas, bending over a stack of the files I had brought yesterday. There were many things marked and scribbled on them.

"Why are you down here and not in our warm bed anymore?" I asked in a raspy morning voice as I entered the room, confused as to why she was here.

Ash looked up when she heard my voice and she raised her eyebrows in surprise. "Did you just say our bed?" she asked.

Fuck, had I really said that? It came out of my mouth so naturally I didn't even notice.

"Sorry, I didn't mean it that way." I apologized nervously as I scratched my head in embarrassment.

"No, it's okay. I liked it..." she admitted with a smile. "Come sit down, I want to show you something." She pointed to the empty seat next to her and I sat down quietly.

I'm just glad she didn't make a scene out of it. It was awkward enough that I said it so unconsciously as a matter of course. And it would have been even worse if she had commented on it...

"What's this?" I asked as I reached for the labeled pieces of paper and looked at them from closer.

"When I woke up early in the morning, I wanted to keep myself busy, so I started planning ahead," she told me.

"Plan what?" I asked, confused. My brain was still half asleep and it didn't quite get what Ash was getting at.

"Our revenge." she replied simply. "Dereck Scott and Robin Styles should pay for everything they've done."

"Are you ready for that yet?" I asked, just thinking about what happened in the last two days and worrying about her. I don't want her to break down because of this, she doesn't deserve that.

"Yes." She nodded resolutely. "I'm tired of being sad...I feel completely numb and the only thing that can change this is if they both die. I want to avenge Jacob and all the women who have ever suffered because of their business."

"And I'll support you regardless," I replied firmly. "I've already let my father get away with so much...it's time he paid for what he does to people just like Dereck."
