Winter break had come to an end, schools are opening back up, and Johnny and I are as happy as can be. I haven't seen Danny much, hope he's okay.

"I'm absolutely dreading school tomorrow," Johnny wines, pulling into my apartment lot as he frowns.

"Same, not looking forward to seeing Ali." I admit, laughing it off.

"Hey, she's just jealous. Besides, she doesn't really bother us anymore." He says, nudging my arm softly.

"Yeah, yeah. I know. Nothing has gotten in our way in a while, and it's going to stay that way." Johnny smiles at me, nodding in agreement.

"Alright, dork. Let's get you inside." Johnny says, hugging me by the waist tightly. "Goodnight Johnny."

"Night love." He says, jogging over to his car.

I quickly fumble my keys around, looking for my apartment key. It's so dark. "Hey," Danny says, coming up behind me.

"Oh-hi danny!" I say, dropping my keys in progress. "Need some help there?" He asks, laughing softly.

"Yeah, that'd be nice." I say, huffing out in exhaustion. He walks closer to me, staring at me for a brief moment as he examined my face.

He kept straight eye contact.

"Something wrong?" I ask, trying to bring him out of his gaze. "Nothing, nothin."

"They really need to put in lights around here," Danny says, as he's still trying to find my key. "Tell me about it."

"You stay here, I'm going to grab a flashlight." He says, running inside his apartment quickly.

Oh. The old couple moved out of their apartment, maybe someone new is moving in?

Now that I think of it, yesterday I did see a moving truck parked on the side of the road. Didn't know it was an apartment so close to mine.

"Found the flashlight." Danny says, having me hold up the light for him as he fumbles through my keys.

"Did someone move in there," I ask, not taking my eyes of the apartment. "Yeah, a kid around our age. Met him today. Really nice guy."

"Good to know."

"Here you are." He says, holding up my key.

"Thank you, Danny." I say, smiling. "No problem, get some rest."

Morning comes too fast. I fling my eyes open, panicking as I notice the time.

I quickly throw on some clothes, brush my teeth, fix my hair, and shove my shoes on.

No time to eat breakfast, literally don't care.

"Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god." I mumble to myself, remembering I told Johnny I didn't need a ride.

I sharply turn the corner to run to my bike, but then I collide bodies with a tall figure, knocking me onto the ground.

"What in the actual hell!" I yell out in frustration. Too early for this.

"I am so sorry, didn't see you there." He apologizes, taking my hand and lifting me back up, and as soon as I get back on ground he places one hand on my waist to keep me secure.

I look at him for the first time. His hair, blonde. Eyes, deep blue. His clothes, a white t shirt and baggy beige jeans and layered necklaces. His hat, backwards. His mouth, holding a toothpick.

"Who the hell are you?" I ask, furrowing my eyebrows slightly. "Wouldn't you like to know?" He dares, still holding my hips to keep me steady. He has a hint of a Southern accent.
