Imani

Jason and I were on the swings at a playground having the time of our lives. "Not the best place to wear a satin dress." He laughed and helped me off the swing.

"Well, you still look gorgeous." He says kissing my hand.

I blushed and cleared my throat. "So why did you decide to go on a blind date? Did you know who I was before?"

"No, my wife died six years ago from cancer and I-" He inhaled deeply for a moment. "My brother wanted me to give this dating thing a chance. I told him it didn't feel right. He knew I wasn't doing well. I was depressed and locked in my office. I cashed in all my paid time off."

I placed my hand on his shoulder and continued listening to him. "Honestly, if this date went in the other direction. I would've had a mental breakdown."

It was a moment of silence before I gave him a hug. He was hesitant, but he hugged me back. "Thank you for sharing that with me. I know it was difficult for you."

"Why are you so perfect?" He questioned. I forced a laugh, staring at the sunset.

"I am far from perfect." I replied. "I'd like to think I have my fair share of good energy and bad. It's a challenge being neutral in this world we live in." He nodded his head and I felt his hand hover over mine. The butterflies in my stomach grew slightly and I laughed.

"Out of all the things you told me tonight, I still don't know your birthday." He asked me. I sighed and turned to him.

"When I tell you, don't judge me. I always get judged for my astrological sign and I barely follow my horoscope." I started, causing him to look at me, confused.

"I'm not familiar with signs, so I'll tell you mine. June 2nd." He said. I gasped and looked at him.

"You're a Gemini? We're basically soulmates. I have never met a male Gemini before my last sign was a Cancer, never again." I explained.

"Normally after I say that I never here from the ladies again." Jason admitted. I rubbed his hand and he leaned down to my height. A passionate kiss was placed on my lips and I melted.

I started to grow hornier and I snapped myself out of it. "We should stop." He kissed my cheek and licked his teeth.

"I'm sorry was that uncomfortable- I should've asked." The six foot-five man blurted.

"No, no! I enjoyed it. I just think we should slow down because I am the type to let you hit on the first night. I am trying to change that. You know, actually build something instead of just using my seduction to mask my feelings." I confessed. He took a step back and held out my hand.

"I understand. I didn't expect you to be so honest with me." Jason admitted, while caressing my hand with his thumb. "Most women they lie to me in order to have sex then leave."

I shook my head and held my hand over my chest. "That is awful. I'm sorry you had to go through that."

We watched the skies then he took me home. He walked me to my front door and I turned towards him. "I was not expecting you to be this Prince with diamond earrings on."

He laughed, reached for my hand and gave it a kiss. "I have only heard that once or twice. Did I win a second date?"

"Call me sometime and we can make something work." I said handing him my phone to insert his number. He leaned down to kiss me and it was like fireworks. I smiled and went inside.

After unlocking my door I see Leon passed out on my couch. I tapped him and he woke up. "I thought you left? What the hell Leon?!"

"Can you please stop yelling?" He asked, exposing the whiskey bottle in his hand.
