The Wyvern shoots out fire through its mouth. That's new. We all jump to the side except Mil. He raises his shield and braces for impact. When the fire exits the scene Mil is left unconscious on the ground. That's the weakness of being a heavy hitter, you aren't very agile. "Pull him away!" Garil orders and Raph and Dion follow.

I decide to attack at its feet. If it attacks I can easily dodge. I can't let that thing attack my friends.

I stab at its scales leaving no damage at all. This Wyvern is way too strong. The scales felt like striking another iron sword. My armor was made out of other Wyvern skin and it wasn't as tough as this. Is everything in this new land overpowered? No wonder they are so advanced. They've been forced to.

I haven't even scratched the Wyvern when two other Grade four monsters arrive. A four legged dinosaur with a turtle shell and a big jaw and an elephant that seemed like it belonged at the top of the beanstalk. It towered over all the other monsters. It was twice the Wyvern's height.

A bird's eye view of this would be impressive. I can imagine it. Six small human figures surrounded by hundreds of dots and a wyvern, turtle, and an elephant sticking high above it all.

"What, the-" the sound of an Alpha's roar drowned off Dion's voice "-is that?!"

Garil answers "The turtle is a Terrayar and the elephant is called Eligeroth. I read it in a book. As for the Wyvern, here they are only called a valley dragon." That was Garil. If you've noticed he's the intellectual one of the group.

"Are there any weak spots on that thing?" I ask as I dodge the valley dragon's bat-like wing. It crashes into the ground kicking up some dirt from the grasslands dry floor. I am temporarily blinded and before I regain visual on the target a tail smashes into me sending me spiraling out of the dust cloud and near Garil's legs.

He has his hand on his chin. "I think its wings are fragile."

"Got it." I stand up and rush at it again. The Terrayar stands between me and the Wyvern. It opens up its mouth and chomps down. It retreats as its mouth receives some small projectiles that blow up in its mouth. I look back and give Garil a thumb's up and continue my mission.

The Wyvern swings at me with its wings and later its tail. I dodge both and climb onto the tail. It swings viciously and I fall near the Eligeroth. Giant feet attempt to stomp on me. Raph cuts the foot making it stumble back. He places his hand on my back and nods. I have friends backing me up. I can't lose!

I run at it using up every ounce of strength I have. Dion swoops around taking care of the lower grade monsters along with Raph. I jump to the Wyvern and all I see is a fire engulf me entirely. Everyone cries my name "Seph!" I am blown back for the second time, but with grave injuries this time. Garil picks me up and gives me a potion, but that's not enough to heal me completely. We are all out. Raph and Dion are also shot back with injuries worse than mine. The monsters close in on us and their giant bodies cast a shadow over us. The sun is no longer viewable as they come down on us.

Maybe thinking we could get out of this alive was just naive thinking.
