Lili drove to Jacob's apartment as she had promised.
"What are you doing here?" Jacob furrowed his brows, confused, he half opened the door.
"You asked me to come over," Lili scrunched her face.
"I have to go to bed now, I've got an uhm an early call time," Jacob lied. Lili rolled her eyes.
"I'm already here can I just stay over? Please"
"No, it's not a good time, I'll talk to you tomorrow," he shut the door right in her face. Lili stared at the door, beyond confused about what had just happened, before groaning and waking back to her car to head home.
She didn't understand why he was being like this, what had she done?
The next day Lili floated through the day, just going through the motions, still pissed about the way Jacob acted last night.
After two long shifts she was finally at home, showered and laying in bed waiting for Olivia and Sienna to get home to finish watching Outer Banks.
She dragged herself off the bed to grab a snack from the kitchen, her phone started to ring in the pocket on her hoodie, she pulled out the phone, no caller ID on the screen, but she answered it anyway.
"Hello?" Lili held the phone to her ear, still staring into the fridge.
"Hi! Is this Ms. Mathews?"
"This is she," Lili answered, reaching for an apple, shutting the fridge, leaning against the metal door focusing on the person on the other end.
"Hi! This is James Calleri," the name sounded familiar to her but she couldn't figure out why in the moment.
"I'm calling to ask a quick question," he continued, "Are you free for the next six months?"
"Uhm yes," she hesitated, dots slowly connecting in her brain.
"Well then would you like to come play our Emily Dickinson?" he asked happily.
Lili took a minute to respond, standing up straight, shock taking over her body, "Oh my gosh! Yes, yes, yes!"
"I'll have my assistant send you all the information, congratulations! I can't wait to work with you," James smiled on the other end.
"Thank you, thank you so much!" she smiled, the line going dead.
"I got it!" she squealed, "No ones fucking home!"
She bounced around the kitchen, beyond excited.
"Woah, lil bunny, what you so excited about?" Sienna laughed at Lili who finally stopped bouncing.
"I got it," Lili looked Sienna dead in the eye, "I booked the role!"
Sienna's mouth dropped, "You're not kidding right?"
"Do I look like I'm kidding?" Lili exclaimed, a big smile plastered on her face.
"Lils!" Sienna pulled the brunette into a hug, "I'm so proud of you!"
